[XB1] Grand Theft Auto V Added to Xbox Game Pass

27435

Even now we're beyond the Christmas season, Xbox Game Pass continues to be the gift that keeps on giving, with Grand Theft Auto V being added to the console service today

Still one of the best games around. Never got around to finishing it though.

Mod:

As always users will decide what is a deal or not via the voting system, from feedback received in the past, generally users appreciated these posts. If you believe that is not or no longer the case feel free to share your thoughts on Should Xbox Games Pass Adding Games Be Allowed as Deals? and we can act accordingly, if there is an overwhelming sentiment against such posts.

As this post doesn't breach any current guidelines, it's therefore up to the users to decide if it's a good deal by voting as is the case with any similar deal, assuming that deal is posted with genuine intent. If users are split in their feelings, we would rather keep it posted as a deal, as it is better to post and benefit some than not post it at all.

I am glad this was posted. I would have come across it the Microsoft Store at some point, but it's nice to find about it now, rather than in a week or two.

As someone who has never visited the forums, I would prefer that deals like this were posted here rather than in the forums, where I'll never see them. I don't understand the negativity. Most of deals posted here are of no interest to me, but I don't feel the need to complain about them.

Wow a bargain basement game got added to a subscription service. I don't think it's a deal as this game is usually dirt cheap anyway. Also this version comes with no shark cards. This is also the only game added for January making it a bad month for the service overall.

In December these games were added:

Halo: Reach via Halo: The Master Chief Collection (4 December)
    My Friend Pedro (5 December)
Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker (5 December)
    Demon’s Tilt (6 December)
    Wandersong (6 December)
    eFootball PES 2020 (12 December)
    Overcooked 2 (12 December)
    Pathologic 2 (12 December)
Tom Clancy’s The Division (12 December)
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (19 December)

Should we have added 10 "deals" to the site for each of these games?

Some people like these notification type posts so maybe we need a new section in addition to Deals & Forums where you can get a stream of notable subscription service offerings. Really need the admins to get these off the deals section somehow.

    • I guess I must be missing something. Why don't yourself and other want these listed? I could certainly understand if there were hundreds of listings, but what's the problem with an occasional listing?

If I look at the deals tagged with "Xbox One Game," many of them are of zero interest to me. The same can be said for any deals posted. So why specifically, is it an issue for these games to be listed?

Why neg me, rather than give me an answer to my question? I am genuinely curious to know why people don't want these games listed as deals.

Read the negative comments, read the forum post. It's pretty clear why people don't want these posts.

Nothing personal. It's just not any different to Netflix adding a movie, so people want consistency.

          • @scuderiarmani: I do get the constancy thing. But considering that Game Pass games would only amount to occasional posts, it's not something that bothers me. If if was something that there would be a vast number of posts about, then I would understand this.

            • @rogerm22: But if you allow one you need to allow the other.

If insert artist here releases a new album on Spotify, do we want that post?

Do we want Season 6 of whatever added to Stan or Netflix?

              • @scuderiarmani: I think you can allow one and not the other. But that's just me.

                • @rogerm22: Well how?

                  Differentiate the two of them….

They are exactly the same thing. GTA5 will not stay in Games Pass.

@scuderiarmani: They are not exactly the same thing. One is Xbox games and the others are albums and TV series. Sure, they are all subscription based services, but in my opinion, it's fine to differentiate between them. Just because you include one, it does not mean that you have to include the others. If you and lots of others disagree with me, then that's okay, we're all entitled to have our own opinions.

Once again, since this would lead to only a small amount of posts. Even Game Pass game were never of interest to me, their inclusion would no bother me at all. I just had a look at the first page of results for the tag Xbox One Game and more than half of the deals were of zero interest to me. If for example, there were a few more deals there that were of no interest to me, it would not matter to me.

@rogerm22: You haven't said why they are different.

It's not fine to differentiate them.

They are media added to a service.

Consistency. Can't have one with out the other. You've even said you understand that.

                      • +1

@scuderiarmani: Unless I'm mistaken, there would be a lot more listings for Spotify, Netflix, etc. I don't care about consistency.

                        • -1

@rogerm22: Well that's a interesting argument. You don't care for consistency and just believe they should.

                          OK.

  • This is leaving the service on May 7th when RDR2 arrives
