Ring Doorbell 1 AND Ring Solar Mount Charger. Really good deal if you're looking for one of these. The solar charger is designed to be like a top up charger and prolong the time between chargers. Not powerful but certainly handy and the doorbell usually costs about this much by itself.

The integrated solar charger seems a good idea….does it works in the shade though or it need to be in direct sun light?

There's still light through reflections/shade/etc, just reduces the efficiency of the built in solar panel cells.

I recommend doorbell 2, I have 1 and it suffers from over exposure if it is placed undercover looking into the street. It can not handle the shaded and sun lit area well (dynamic range).
But version 2 is much better at handling this and plus you get the image clarity and better wifi connectivity.
I placed the two doorbells side by side and despite the doorbell 2 being full HD, its image quality is much better and has faster live connect than doorbell 1.
Can these just run on batteries?
Yes, they do. Depending the on the activity level the battery can last up to 6 weeks.
