yeah i've seen some decent london return deals for about 700 bux from air asia!

for these prices its pretty much cheaper to fly to Perth via KL from melbourne rather than melb to Perth Direct! LOL!

Nice find. If I get everything planned out for my previous Jetstar Beijing one-way ticket, it could be really good :D

Great Job MAN ! Thanks !
*Pity AA fares during Dec-Jan is 2-4x more… lol

    • +3

The real pity is cost of syd airport to AA and therefore no AA service to SYDNEY….. kinda hate myself for living in SYD…

      • It's the Malaysian government blocking Sydney route to protect Malaysia Airlines. There's rumour that the route will open to AA late next year.

        • AA recently formed an alliance with Malaysia Airlines operation though and now shareholders of one another.

And your point is spot on scan06disk.

another example of whinging cheapos who's expecting too much. And don't expect "cool story bro" approval

      Hi Heloanand,

You can phone AirAsia and tell that you are expecting a baby and won't be medically fit to travel. They will ask you to provide a letter from a GP and then they are likely to offer you credit to buy future tickets with AA. I think you have to re-book within 3/6 months or so.

If you don't travel, I guess you can book the ticket for someone else and recover some of the costs from them.

    • +10

      Use protection

    • You can't blame them because the people you are going with got pregnant. You bought the tickets knowing this because they -always- post the terms and conditions.

  • Am I the only one who finds it impossible to plan holidays more than 3 months out? Travel period from April 2012 sucks. Good prices though…

    • I can't book an trip 1 year ahead, unless ofcourse you are retired…

      • +3

I am retired and do book holidays a year in advance …….. perhaps I need to take out life insurance.

        • +5

          borat voice You are retard?

    • I've done it twice now. The good thing about planning in advance is you can stalk deals and get an awesome holiday on the cheap. Pay everything off way before you go. I'm heading to Bali in Jan and everything is paid off and now saving spending money so by the time I go I'll have about $4K which will having a LOT of fun for that value in Bali.

im thinking of booking a flight for my bday in april, can get it for 600bux with all the "comforts"…whereas if i go in feb with SIA its 800bux…oh what shall i dooooo.

Great prices!! I am going to Phuket in April but that is not on the list :(. I found another sale on AirAsia website, it's similar but travel periods in Jan/Feb and only from Darwin and Perth - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/50928

    • +1

You can fly to Phuket(HKT) on Air Asia(D7) via Kuala Lumpur(KUL). Current sale is AU$348 return MEL to KUL add another $164 for return to Bangkok(BKK) or HKT.

sydney - goldcoast $150 + goldcoast - KL $360. total $510. during school holidays. WIN.

    Hrmmm.. if I do a return search 2nd May - 13th May:

    Perth > KL $179AUD ( 70 fare + 74 tax + 35 fuel )
    KL > Perth $128AUD ( 70 fare + 23 tax + 35 fuel )
    = $307 not inc baggage

Nothing on the return is close to $85AUD as advertised after searching…

Unless I book from KL to Perth 1-way in MYR it'll show fares for 110RM, add taxes + fuel it's 249RM / 3.1 exchange is ~$80AUD.

If I do a return KL > Perth:
    KL > Perth = 249RM
    Perth > KL = 405RM
    = 654RM / 3.1 exchange is ~$211AUD not inc baggage

That's almost 100AUD diff for the same flight path just originating in opposite direction?!

Yeah, I'm seeing a bit of that - I think the AirAsia site is getting hammered pretty hard.

Love the Sydney Fairs. Some good offers there. /sarc

  • Great prices 299 to mumbai love it, but i wish it was just in november would be amazing!

  • I found Gold Coast - London return for $995 return for the dates we're hoping to go next year. But then have to add cost and inconveniece of flights from Canberra - Gold Coast.. then Rome back to London (was originally planning on booking open jaw flight)… And the fact we're not 100% sure if the dates will work…. Wonder if its worth the hassle and very slight risk the dates won't work to save $1000ish…

    • Sadly living in Canberra you need to fly somewhere to go international. Not much more flying to Goldie as it is Melbourne and at least Gold Coast is 2 hours shorter flight than Melbourne is :)

      • True, last time we flew overseas we found it easiest to get a bus straight to sydney airport, rather than another flight from Canberra, by the time you check in and find your luggage etc, it doesnt take much longer and is less hassle. But you're right, it would have had to be done anyway.

I was starting to think we'd seen the last of these really cheap fares (see my forum thread)

Couldn't see really cheap prices when I searched earlier today. Maybe I'll have another look later. Maybe I'll be flying Air Asia after all!

A little tip, use http://www.airasiaplus.com so you can search out the best deals. I know that there's a heap of flights from KL to GC for $61 but you need to search as a one way flight to get them. All up to KL it's $262 from GC return which is a bargain. Then from KL to where ever in Asia you want really.

    • I was just thinking about airasiaplus as adioso doesn't stretch to 9 months or so of the promotional fares.

      Thanks for reminding me!

  • Just a heads up that the advertised prices generally don't include taxes, airport charge, fuel surcharge, baggage, meals, entertainment and more. Just go through the booking process to get the extra costs.

I'm about to get the Perth-London return. After you include all the trimmings it's about $700 each way. Still better than anything else on offer.

  • Hmmm, might be time to book another London trip. Cheapest I've seen in a while

  • Thanks adiosofen. Just booked Melb to London, Then Paris - KL - Melbourne for $1200 including all meals, taxes, fuel surcharges, etc etc. good point Lakandasht about the 'essential extras' they add up quickly!
