Was on the lookout for a slow cooker with a built in timer and came across this CrockPot. Amazon AU were selling it for $64 but have dropped the price ever so slightly to match Myer's current price (which appears to be a Boxing Day Sale Price). Most other stores are selling it at or near the RRP of $79.95.

No thermostat in these "crockpots", so cook temp depends on ambient.
For a bit more, you can get a multi-cooker that does pressure-cooking, rice, etc and can brown the meat before slow-cooking.
