  • Anyway to find out postage costs without having to sign up?

  • can it be formatted into fat32?

    • I believe they are already fat32 from the box. Can format to NTFS etc using alternative software

Isnt there one of these stores in Sunshine or did they get rid of it?

    • Just added Braybrook (Near Sunshine) it is their head office and online store. It looks it is a store also. Thanks

  • where you just reading the green guide?!

    • Haha yep

This is the USB 2.0 model if anyone missed it. Personally I think it is worth paying the extra ~$20 for the USB 3.0 model.

      Where have you seen USB3.0 1TB 2.5inch for $99?

there was one through JB until a couple of days ago …not samsung tho - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/49276

or those thicker seagate 1.5TB go glex 2.5" have been cheap off and on for USB2.0 or USB3.0 depending on store/sale - can possibly try JB to price match them

although for me personally USB2.0 is fine as macbook air doesn't have 3.0 :~(

Please note that the hard drive cannot be used within other external devices (i.e. laptop) due to the soldering of the connector to the drive.

Kinda old/obvious info, tbh. They wouldn't physically fit anyway. Any laptop that has room for one, already has one (or 750GB at smallest) ;)

There are several 1TB 2.5" 9mm SATA drives out now.

  • There is a western digital USB 3.0 1Tb sold for $110 on ebay. Check this out.
And also the 750gb USB 3 for $78.

    • i just went to buy this hard drive today, they also have the 1tb usb 3 version for 105. i passed on it and got his older one

  • This is a great deal btw. And you can always take out the 2.5" drive and use it in a USB3.0 case later down the track…
