Samsung Galaxy S II $610 + $15 Delivery [or Pickup in Clyde/Sydney CBD Branch]

60

Just bumped into this on whirlpool.
Unsure if its local or Overseas stock (I'm guessing it would be the later)

Looks good @ $600 pickup. & theres (hopefully) no hassles. like the SS deal.

I would recommend paying via Paypal to save yourself from any potential problems with thinkofus

Edit Looks like they have increased the price from $600 to $610

Why do you say $600 for pickup? The site says "NOTE: Online pricing is not available for over the counter sales" or can one pay on-line and then pickup?

I note that the iPhones this site/business were selling turned out to be Australian models (not HK stock). However, one buyer reported on Whirlpool that he was sent a stolen (IMEI blocked) iPhone (since replaced).

At A$600 there would not be much profit even if these were HK grey imports.

    EDIT:

Link to the Whirlpool thread about the stolen iPhone - traced to AllPhones.

    • I think counter sales = just rock up to counter front without placing an order online.

I have just placed an order for my brother and can confirm we got charged $600 pickup (no delivery fee)

      • Please let us know if it is a 'legal' import A-Tick phone with a certified AC charger.

  • Is this a good phone? Going by the reviews its the best one on the Market to date

    • yeah that and the HTC sensation. simular… i like HTCs as they are pretty good at updating firmware and the apps (friendstream, wather etc) are integrated prett well.

    • Yeah, best phone, period (period means this year only). I don't think the Iphone 5 will be better.

  • Would there be Australian warranty for these phones?

    • Hi aurotaro.

In answer to your question regarding warranty support in Australia.

I just had a long talk with SAMSUNG Support. They will require a proof of purchase / receipt and will check the IMEI number of all phones presented for service. If the phone was purchased overseas (ie. No A-Tick) it will not be covered under warranty in Australa. The owner will need to send the phone to Hong Kong.

The SAMSUNG Service staffer also reminded me that the HK SAMSUNG power charger is not legal in Australia and does not come with the AU plug.

She asked me for the names of the firms who were selling these phones, and for my contact details.

hmm just doing a bit of math, 600 dollars over a 24 month conract is 25 bux a month…
given the phone is free on the 59 dollar plan… that exquates to only paying 34 bux a month for the (optus)network, better yet there is 2 month free when you order online from optus..
    so (5924)-(592) = 1298 - 600(for the phone) = 698 for the plan over two years
29 a month.. guess it makes sense if your spending less than 29 bux a month on calls - or your not going to keep the phone for a full two years - or you want to go on another network (TPG/telstra etc), otherwise its cheaper to buy the phone with the plan.

    interesting….

    ^—- cool story bro.

    • wise comment

    • Woolworths sim: 500 bux value, 26 (with Everyday card)bux for 45 days expiry. And a massive 5GB per month than can be tethered to other devices. And 5GB of data costs round 30 bux rite?

Then we should factor the future value and present value… Who studies Finance here raise your hand lol.

      • they use optus though, does that mean that it would be counted in 10mb blocks like the ipad data from optus?

        edit: just checked 1mb blocks

        • I reckon 1mb increments. They mention it on the Terms and Conditions section.

yeah the whole 1MB increments is pretty dodgy… makes casual browsing stupid expensive, pretty ridiculous, guess its the telcos just doing things because they can and there is no real compitition for wireless data.

        • I reckon 1MB increments is quite acceptable? Not like the 10MB one. Totally absurd.

        • yeah but the problem is a page is what, a few k for text or so,
pictures etc 3-400K if they are done right… point is if your only visiting the one site, your getting maybe 50% of your data at best…

    • I am on my iPhone now. While reading news.com.au I keep seeing ads from Vodafone offering the SAMSUNG GS2 on their $45 infinite deal for an extra $15 a month.

  • Of course it's a grey import.

  • Has this just gone up in price or am I missing a code? Says $610 on web site.

Dont forget www.liveconnected.com.au for phone plans if you dont mind Optus. I am considering $600 Galaxy S2 + $7.99 a Month (200MB Data. $145 Talk/Text) . Comes to about $800 total for 2 years.

    • Looks like they have increased the price…cheeky

      • Lol. checked it this morning and its gone back down. $600.

  • Anyone know where is their Sydney CBD office?
