Correct, point 7 in the FAQs https://www.fitnessfirst.com.au/-/media/Project/FitnessFirst…
Looks great - I’m sure the hard sell will be in there somewhere, but its a great long-term investment by the company. (The company’s front line is full of short term incentive-based sales reps of course 😉)

Which by definition means it's a terrible deal for the victims of the hard sales tactics.
Most likely they'll need a credit card number then after the holidays they'll start billing you and there'll be no easy way to cancel it.
Getting out of FF is harder than getting out of Alcatraz…Speaking from personal experience, I am currently doing this program in Canberra, all you need to do is fill out a medical form each holidays. The staff don't try to sell you anything and all I have gotten from them is a few texts with a special offer during the schoolterms and no credit card is required.
Isn't that the same with every gym? They need to hire ex-gym staff for all prisons.
One of the worst gym owners in Australia. Thank God for competition these days.
try naming a better gym in australia?
Depends on what you're looking for, but:
- Anytime Fitness
- Virgin Active
- Goodlife (owned by the same guys as FF)
- My local council recreation centreanytime? lol
@alamodey: Yes
dane45 is correct, but the terms 'worst gym' and 'better gym' are pretty subjective.

Any of your local suburban Gyms.FF is the McDonalds of Gyms, kids who don't know what real food is think they're cool, then one day they grow up :)
I disagree. I go to FF in Canberra and enjoy it. Super convenient location, friendly and professional group class instructors and PTs (and other gym-goers!) nice range of classes, decent facilities. YMMV of course but that’s a pretty broad claim you’re making there.
I'm a teen :'(

Anyone kind of scared of gyms?
Yeah, sort of used to be, thinking that everybody is judging, then came to the realisation that nobody else cares one bit, and then I enjoyed it a hell of a lot more.
There's a cool comic from 'The Oatmeal' that has a good take on gyms…
https://theoatmeal.com/comics/gymhaha! got a good laugh from that one!
Last year I started going to the pool again for the first time in years, used to think everyone would be judging me but after the first time I realised no one cares, no one was watching me. Still a little paranoid about my stuff (phone and keys) as I can either pay for a locker in a room I can't see (and lockers have trash tier locks) or I keep it in my bag and leave it at the side of the pool (where I can at least see it's still there… but without my glasses it can be hard to see).
Closest one to us are 18 minutes drive.. Ehhh good program tho
Oh man! Nothing in WA again!!!
Do they check id or something to prove age? I know someone who is 13.5yo that would be interested.
Great initiative, for those that are interested.
To be clear, it appears that only 16y.o. and older will be allowed to use weights (but this will not be supervised).
