        Today two EB's confirmed for me that they give $242 for a non-slim + any 2 games if upgrading to a pro (and it can be any 2 games, they actually told me to buy two $2 games in-store if I didn't have any I wanted to trade) - though this is for level 2 members.

        Yeah, and even if you don’t have a 4k display, supported games will be less jerky on 1080p and may even support 60 fps such as God of War.

      I'd say it's worth it at this price, a PS4 slim 1tb seems to be more than this at the moment. You could pick up a 500gb PS4 for around $250, maybe a little less, however I'd say you would need to upgrade the storage within a year if your 11 year old wants to store more than 10-15 games on it.

      The Pro also has a little performance bump and 4k.

      So in conclusion! I'd Go for the Pro!

        So now we don't need to buy game disks that we used to do back in old days (PS1, 2 ,3)?

          Even if you buy disc, you still have to install it on the HDD and it takes up the exact same amount of size as downloading a digital version of a game.

          But yes, it is possible to go all digital.

      Totally worth it, I've been replaying all the Assassins Creed games on the Pro and the biggest thing is the frame rate and how smooth it was, its noticeably improved!

      It's worth it at this price and will be good resale or trade in value for a PS5 later. Even if the boy doesn't have a 4K TV he will also definitely be noticing the performance difference if any of his peers have a pro instead

      Only thing is, what if the PS5 comes out ~ double the price of this? it depends if you are willing to be near/close to launch, or wait even longer for a $500 price tag.

      I think you could get this deal now. Then use it to help you wait for the PS5 to drop in price. If you managed to sit out 6 years on PS4 you could wait 12 months or so for PS5 deals easily.

      Just buy a unit off Gumtree, and wait for PS5.

      I'm in the same position as you, I don't even know if I want XBOX or PS4. But it's very close to new consoles, and I don't think i'll play that much in the next 6 months as I'm finishing off studies and building a house.

      I'm from SA, not as good but interstate there is plenty of good deals to be had via FB MARKET or Gumtree.

    Yesterday I was tempted to upgrade my Xbox S with the Xbox X deal…. I was talked out of it by other ozbargain members.

    Today I am being tempted again to upgrade my PS4 to a PS4 pro! This is for a media room where I still use a 1080P projector so I get no 4k benefit from this - more just for the performance kick. Hmmm, probably still not worth the upgrade and I should save my money? (What also partly put me off the XboxX deal yesterday was a few people complaining how hot the XboxX runs…. how is the PS4 Pro heat wise?)

    To be honest I probably play the PS4 more than the Xbox but I flit around a lot… I pretty much have every console of the last few generations so often still go retro and play on older generations too still. Currently going through a phase of collecting the Xbox360 library given the games are so cheap nowadays which would make people think I should really invest more on the Xbox One side given the backward compatibility but all the cheap PS4 games on Amazon recently have been keeping me invested in the PS4. Of course I have a HUGE pile of shame games across all platforms lol!

    Anyway, going off track…. if I had a 4k projector this would be a no brainer deal although I probably would have already had both the X and Pro by now… just hard to know if worth doing at 1080.

      Thanks, I actually have played any gaming in over 10 years! I use to do PC and play counter strike, wolf like 10 hrs a day but then my job consumed hahahahaha
      So im pretty behind, battlefield had come out when i stopped so wouldnt mind playing some older games

      So get the 4k projector already… mine looks soooo sweet… with bright 16:9 content like Avatar or Blue Planet II, otherwise it kind of looks like a huge cheap LCD TV, and the SVS PB-16 literally rocks my world!
      Gona be playing Jedi fallen order in 4k on my 1X w/ 130" screen as soon as I knock for xmas.

    Hey guys
    So I went to Target Bourke st Melbourne (CBD location) today - day 1 of this sale - and they said they have NO stock of the ps4 Pro 1TB and haven't had stock since Black Friday sales. System showed 5 other stores in the Melb metro vicinity also had NO stock. I don't know what they're trying to pull but this really pissed me off. Have now ordered it off Amazon.
    ps EB games don't price match on consoles (for anyone that didn't know).
