Use PLAY100 instead for $100 off

    • Yep, can confirm this works.

  • +2

Damn that’s cheap for the 65”. I pulled the trigger at $3500 and still reckon that was a good deal.

  • +1

DAmn….. i bought mine for $1838 and i thought that was the lowest price. This is insanely cheap for its value.

  • Am I right in recalling people recommending against an OLED for a bright room?

As I was looking at this model but am now hesitant for my particular room…

What 55” tv is better for a brighter room, for watching regular Foxtel tv & Netflix?

    TIA!

    • +1

OLED isn't a problem in terms of brightness, but the anti-reflective coating Samsung has on their top QLED TVs absolutely eats reflections. In an extremely bright room, when the TV is dark / off you see more reflections on the C9, if you're looking for them.

    • -1

Stick with Sony or Samsung LEDs if budget permits for bright rooms.

OLED is let down in light.

      • Nothing wrong with OLED in bright rooms, it's easily bright enough (way brighter than most older LEDs that people would be replacing). Samsung have an amazing anti-reflective coating on their top end LEDs though. So if you get super distracted by bright reflections on dark scenes then look at that one. Sony's isn't as good, but is ok.

        • I've got all 3 concerned TV's.

The LG looks a 1000 times better after a move from a room with a skylight to a dark corner.

The Sony TV's (95 series) are actually so bright it can hurt your eyes in given scenes, even in a well lit room. QLED even more so.

So to all the neggers. Do you have all 3?

  • Cheers, finally got the 55 for a decent price. Replacing a blotchy, buggy, 4yr old Hisense (never again)

Too bad no stores around with stock, so had to get posted.

    • +1

It will be a reasonable upgrade, definitely not the worst set I've viewed :p

      • Heh gonna be so good, it should get here in time for Witcher series drop next week :)

    • +2

      finally got it too

120hz gsync oled 55" PC gaming monitor ftw

  • Got one, thanks OP. Delivery to Sydney for the 65” was about $55 with total coming to $2750.94 delivered. Sweet.

  • Ordered a 55" for click and collect. Thanks OP!

  • Is this worth the extra $439 over the sony x950g?

    • The Sony X950G is not an OLED panel like the LG C9. There's a big difference between the two, so yes I would say it's worth the extra money. Especially if you're like me and most people who only upgrade TV's every 5+ years at least. Only if it's within your budget though, if it's outside your budget, get what you can afford and be happy with it.

  • +1

65" is sold out on both eBay and TGG website.

  • Ordered the 55inch for $1736. Thanks Santa.

  • Thanks OP & @Jarr0d, got the 55" for $1736 👍

  • How did people get the 55" for 1736. tried adding both codes Play100 and POTTER3 but didn't work as only 1 code allowed?

    • Click and collect using PLAY100

      • Appreciated. My bad forgot to untick delivery.
        thanks

  • I believe this guy is a firmware update away from G-Sync support. Linus did a review of the B9 which I think sits just below this one.

    • Can confirm that it is :)

    • +1

thats why i bought it :)

    • Nah it already has g-sync enabled through nvidia driver. The current lg firmware works.

  • Word of caution with OLED,

My understanding is they can be prone to burn in..

plus ive read (so must be true lol..) that the blue degrades faster than the other colours, dont know how much of a visible issue that may be in the years to come, or even if thats still an issue..

    • +2

This is true but there is a pixel reset function, logo illuminator function which is on by default, a screensaver which activates on static images and a screen movement thingy which can all help prevent it.

Just don't play games on it for 12 hours a day etc or use it as a PC screen.

As LG said, used responsibility and in moderation.

    • does warranty cover it

      • No

      • Unsure.. I haven't read the warranty terms and conditions inside and out.

One user said that LG does cover it and will provide 1 screen replacement. I don't know the credibility of this. I believe if a company were to cover it, they would cover it unconditionally not just for 1.

As per terms and conditions they have the right to use refurbished parts for the repair.

      • +1

Your consumer rights as an Australian cover it.

        • Liberals cut consumers laws. As it doesn't cause a major fault (as in the TV is no longer functional) they don't have to cover it anymore under ACL laws.

Your only other Avenue out was to say "Had I known about the fault when purchasing it I wouldn't have bought the product" yet it's clearly stated on the website from LG and the fault wasn't there initially, it was caused by improper use.

Which LG does say isn't covered under warranty.

It's all a grey area and technically you'd be running on good faith of LG to repair it.

There was just a lawsuit about this here:
          https://www.accc.gov.au/media-release/lg-to-pay-160000-for-m…

ACCC won but I doubt the consumers got their TV fixed.

    • I have 2000 hours on my 55" C9, and not one ounce of burn in or image retention.

Just make your windows desktop black, hide dekstop icons, and hide taskbar.

  • I did this: bought via Good Guys online store with cash rewards and 5% eGift Card (via workplace but also available on Suncorp rewards). It’s probably going to work out to be $1707.
Edit: bought the 55 inch and C&C, it’s already ready to pickup

If so, new cheapest price so far.

      • no price protection via 28degrees

which is a possibility given its not even boxing day

        • And thanks to this deal and 28 degrees I had my TV yesterday but still save $399 off the price I paid.

          • @sween64: I didn't think you could use price protection on eBay stores?

            • @Queue2Queue: I have in the past successfully and I’ll try again.

            • @Queue2Queue: Worked. Was refunded $346 ($55 less than I predicted because I forgot I had paid $55 for postage). Latitude asked for evidence, both my purchase receipt and a screen shot of the online price.

          • @sween64: no guarantee this sale would have happenned tho

  • +1

Hell yeah, suckers who jumped at this deal at 2k! LOL. RRP 3.5K wow!!!!!

Sad, my 10 year old Panasonic 1080P Plasma still won't die and the motion quality is so good. Maybe by the C15 model in 2025 I can finally skip 4K and go straight to 8K.

    • how does it feel to still be in the 1080p stoneage?

      • +2

I have a Panasonic 54" VT20A plasma which I bought almost 10 years ago from Secondsworld….was an absolute bargain at $1100 delivered. Old now….but the picture quality and colour reproduction is still awesome despite it being 1080p. I wouldn't say its in the stone age at all

        • Nice. Have a similar 55" VT30A. With plasma, it's all about motion resolution (very close to old school CRT speed) which I still like.

  • Do these TVs have HDMI 2.1?

    • Sure do

  • Got it for $2,696 including delivery in-store. Banging!

    • Can you upload the invoice?

  • Bloody hell missed out due to work :( wanted the 65 for that price

  • Just picked up mine. So happy I got it for close to $1700.

  • I put in my 28 degrees price protection for this last night. I have screenshots so hope they refund it.
I paid about 2650 on another 20% Binglee ebay sale sale 5-6 months ago.
    great TV!!

    • Please let us know if they honour it.

  • Does anyone have the C9 65inch TGG ebay $2696 screen shot?

  • I just spoke to Graeme at Warrawong and he arranged a purchase for me from the Penrith store, as they had stock. I am picking up tomorrow, just received the invoice - $2,750.

  • I just bought 65” for $2660 with free delivery and installation from castle hill nsw

  • Tried to get 65" nearly got through with purchase, thinking the stock would be in next week they were happy to do it for the $2696. Then they got an alert saying ETA for new stock was late Jan. Took my finger off trigger :(

  • +1

At 8pm Victoria time, I took the receipt that was posted in here (somewhere) with the price from GG of $2657 into JB Hi Fi and asked them to match it. They took one look and said no.

I walked over to my local Good Guys (Frankston VIC) and showed them the receipt. The guy there took one look, looked at me, and said "yeah, we can do that". No stock till the end of Jan, but that suits me fine.
