Jeez, at a price this cheap, I'm going to buy one for every room of the house, even the toilet…It'll give me something to look at anyway, plus I can time myself and set a new personal best…ok too much info lol

  • +4

Kmart also sell wall clock quite cheap, if Ikea is far from ur home.

But I dont recommend them for bedrooms as they make ticking sound. Go for smooth ones for a but expensive for bedrooms.

    • +5

I like the ticking sound, it helps me sleep. Just a constant "tick tock"

I dunno, maybe it's just me. Love the sound of fans as well, and rain.

      Went a bit off topic.

      • +6

LOVE rain. Don't mind fan/air conditioners.

        HATE LOUD CLOCKS!!!

Sorry - caps needed for effect.

    • +6

Yes, one in the box when you buy it

    • +2

I hope, u were just kidding.

  • +1

Kmart has had similar clocks for $3 for months now. Nothing special

  • +2

They still make these? Wow, I remember my parents having several of these 10 years ago when I was 9…

    • +2

10 years ago - wow that is soooo long. Like, oh my gosh.

  • Price is good.

    25cm is a small clock.
ok in a small room i suppose.

yes the ticking sound would ruin my sleep.
I currently have digital clock (a big display) that only illuminate backlit when I choose to.

  • +4

$2.99 - they have gone up!

They have always been $2 at Ikea WA for years…still have mine somewhere…

  • +2

Couldn't live with the ticking sound. I even have to turn my desktop computer off at the switch or it makes buzzing sound all night

    • You gotta fix your PSU or get a new one lol.
My old one buzzed like a B but once I got a new one I slept like a baby.

  • This has already been posted before on OzBargain, suprised no one has brought this up.

Clock is a very low everyday price, and good to see the large number of units.

    • Link?

The only previous one i could find was an alarm clock for 99c

      • Its a post hidden inside that 99 cent clock, the RUSCH clock.

  • ive got one. still going strong after a good 3 years

  • I bought one few years back. And it is a battery killer.
    :-(

When the 1.5V battery runs out, the clock switches to the built-in nuclear cell. So make sure you have your radiation suit handy!!!

estella021937 - you're very excited about a $2.99 clock. I'd love to have seen your reaction to the Officeworks $0.10 clocks … :-)

I had one of these clocks and took the batteries out… it was driving me crazy at night!!!

    • +1

I don't understand why people still use these tick tick things. So annoying especially at night.

    • +2

I had one of these clocks and took it to the police station………..detectives said we have ways to make you 'tock'

so this is where public schools get their clocks from…

    • -1

This is probably what public schools have to resort to after constant neglect from the Liberal government. In Victoria under Liberal, more funds have been put into private schools than public and a lot of public libraries are set to receive less funding.

If Liberal continues down this route, maybe libraries will soon be purchasing these clocks too. If they survive that is.

Arcticmonkey, I loved how you've managed to link this post about clocks being a bargain, to the fact that it makes 'tick tick' noises, to point out that it actually IS cheap again… and being used in public schools - all so u can just have your politcal rant LOL.

Come on.. We all have something in common here, let's not have debates here eh??

You like bargains, I like bargains. Let's be friends =D

        • Agreed teabagzzz - save the mass debates for the forums..

  • +5

I bought two of these for my public school classroom and they got stolen lol. They were very crap clocks too so I never replaced them!

  • +6

    Does it require assembly? :P

    • it comes with a free hex key :)

  • naa they used to be for free! remember those days? ;P
just hang them in every single room xD

Nothing special, always been this price

There are $3 clocks at Big W as well….Large size too.
I bought one a few weeks ago…still works fine!

  • I am after a non-ticking silent clock. I have already bought a couple but they aren't silent. anyone recommend one?

    • Always amazed why the evil bombers in movies don't get these non-ticking bomb timers. The good guys always hear the bomb ticking and manage to defuse it with a second to spare.

      • I've been watching slightly less old movies, the ones where the timers have LED counters. I think a more up to date movie would have a LCD panel. :)

  • Safeway / WW had clocks for $2 when I was in there the other day. Looked to all be kids themed.

Grabbed a Cars for my little boy.

  • Do they have a quartz movement? It's not written on the face, which probably means no. At least they would be correct twice a day…

    It's about TIME!!

    • durr how do i tick derr? (>.<)

  • Got one too. Accidentally knocked it off the wall playing with my daughter repeatedly. Still keeps 'ticking' away :)

    • Sorry but that just sounds WRONG

    • Oh no, did your daughter swallow the clock? :)

  • +3

I hope there's sTOCK left when I get there

    • +1

Oh noes! It's TIME to WATCH out for bad puns, everyone…

        • Good to see I'm not the only cuckoo here…

        • Well at least u can't see my face…

      • +1

      • Yes, time is running out for this bargain!

    BARGAIN.

  • I have seen 2 dollar clocks that are nicer looking, bigger, no digits, steel framed clocks @ Chickenfeed.

  • +1
  • They have always been $2.99 for years in Australia.. I got mine 3 years back at the same price. i remember since i bought 10 together for every room on the house. not a bargain imho since it is always at this price anyway. Good price anyway

  • Hi There

I purchased one of these a few years ago and they were a piece of JUNK!. The clock would lose about 1 - 2 mins an hour… pathetic - I threw it out in disgust.

I think the lesson with Ikea is not to get anything that has a motor… even some cheap scales I got there once were crappy…

  • Do any of IKEA's sites have online stores attached to them?

  • That is not the bargain because thats the same price everyday and kmart also selling the similar clock for $3.anyway if you want the $3 clock and want to avoid painful checkout at ikea just grab one at kmart.they also have glass 30cm clock for $4.at the end of the day we get what we pay.have a good day.
