Bose Soundlink Mini II Special Edition (Luxe Silver) $101.97 Delivered @ Bose Australia (Hack Required)

6101
HOLIDAY15SPEAKER20

Black out of stock

I know this post has been flying around last 2 days.

Some of you have issue with over-charged $157 instead of $143. I'm struggling with it either. I bought one and they charged me $157 (but I already make a claim through Paypal)

Today I try again with Code SPEAKER20, but i don't know what it does. Price now even goes down to $101.97.

Please note: voucher codes are case sensitive.

Method 1

What I did. I install Honey add-on into Chrome, when adding speaker to cart and use Honey, It drops down to $101.97 by itself. Wondering if this is price error. Pay with PayPal.

Here is my proof

https://ibb.co/hdqnP7f

Method 2

Open two tabs to the deal. In tab 1, click Buy Now to add product and go to cart. Switch to tab 2 and go to cart. Enter coupon code HOLIDAY15 and apply. Switch back to tab 1, enter coupon code SPEAKER20 and apply. Proceed to checkout and pay with PayPal. (Thanks to OO.)

Happy Hunting everyone

Called up, said my mini was ready to ship and should be here tomorrow or Friday. PayPal is still pending. No shipping email yet.

    • Good if it does, but we won't believe it until we see it.

  • I managed to check my order with Live chat and they said that it would be posted on Friday at the latest. Grabs Popcorn

    • +2

Double checked with them. Finger crossed.

  • i had mine disappear from my paypal :/ cant see any recollection of it

    • Do you mean that the transaction totally disappeared?

      • yep and the moneys back in paypal :/ i called bose and they said its due for delivery on friday. So who knows whats going on :S

        • +5

Sounds like they're delivering both the speaker and your money back? Bargain!

      • happened to me also. Can only see it if i click on the link in the Paypal email

  • I ordered 4 for $407.87. I called them up and they said they'd shipped and I'll have them Friday. Out if curiosity I asked what the total amount was, she said $639.80 so $159.95 each. I explained that my order confirmation, PayPal and credit card all said $407.87 so she told me to email them with proof to be escalated. I'm going to wait for them to get here and if I get charged the higher amount I'll push for reimbursement based on the screenshots, otherwise I'll be refunding all 4.

    • Sounds like they’re gonna do that to everyone

      • Live chat say mine should be delivered by the end of the week. Not much hope on my end though :/

    • Or just refuse delivery. Can't be bothered posting them off to them especially with the kind of customer service experienced by some of the people here. Did they not learn anything from the SoundSport Free fiasco?

    • +4

You really should wait for everyone to receive their orders before raising this issue with Bose…

    • Working fine for me atm

  • +1

At this stage they are better off just cancelling the orders than shipping them (late) and charge $160 instead of $102 without telling us. You legit wouldn't even know they did that unless or until you check your PayPal/CC statement. Some even only found out after they received the product that they were charged a higher amount. This is absurd.

  • +2

I called them to check the total amount of my order for 2 speakers. They increased the price to 159 for each so I just asked them to cancel my order. That is a really dodgy practice:(

    • Should just paypal chargeback the difference from the order confirmation

    • +3

There's a '30-DAY RISK FREE TRIAL', so if they charge me more, I'll use it for the 30 days and then return it at THEIR expense.

      • +1

Just want to save the time to return and wait for the refund. If they decide to handle this website glitch like this, I don't think I will shop on their website any more.

  • I've cancelled using Live Chat

Basically told me it was price error etc etc so i cancelled the order.

''We are very much aware that there was an error with the confirmation email sent as it was showing an incorrect price of 143AUD and that has already been escalated to our ecommerce team. If u will recall, the original price of the sl mini is 199 AUD and when 20% promo code is applied price would go down to 159 hence the charge.. we are very sorry for the confusion but we are sure that you were not overcharged. We can send u the copy of invoice if needed.''

Those who don't contact will probably get charged $169.95 and order be delivered by Friday.. They said to contact again to process the difference

    • Lol @ u, so professional.

      • Really can't be asked to let it drag on hence the cancellation.

    • 199 AUD and when 20% promo code is applied price would go down to 159 hence the charge..and who bought the mini2 will probably get charged $169.95? That is not $10 difference

      • The person said the original price is 199.95 but i'll be charged 169.95 then would have to contact again to get $10 refund to make total of $159.95. I asked before they said it'll be posted by XX XX date if i'll get refunded back $67.xx and told me no, only $10

    • If I were you, I would have waited about a week then contact them. In that way, they would have compensate in some way for the time I have waited. This was the case with Amazon or other online orders where they may provide a Credit voucher to my account or something similar to that. Anyways, it seems party is over according to your online chatting dialogue.

  • +1

My Bose 300 has been shipped. Got the tracking number from chat as well !

    • +1

What time did you place your order? And have you been charged full amount?

      • 1.44pm , I have been charged $319.97 as expected I.e. the discounted amount

    • do you mean 500? The 300 was $170 or $160

  • +13

'Wait till product arrives and if price is increased, use for 28 days then return' crew checking in…

bose can then sort out the refurb at their expense.

    like if you agree ;)

    • +6

Isn't it simply a breach of a sale contract? I'd suspect it'd be comitting fraud to charge higher than an contractually agreed upon amount without the prior consent + amendment of the sales contract

Perhaps someone with more legal knowledge could clarify

      • I have even less legal knowledge, but am happy to clarify that you are probably right.

    • Can you imagine if all 14k clicks purchased and returned in January… That would be one huge costly mistake, wowee.

  • +5

    This is fascinating.

I'm one of the 101.97 crew, paid via PayPal, I can't see how Bose are going to be able to charge me more via that mechanism??

Invoice ID here, screenshots taken, this goes to PayPal if there is any MALARKEY pulled.

    • -4

They have a mechanism with PayPal that they can alter orders and payments

      • +7

I dropped out of school in year 2 and even I can see you can’t just go around charging people more after a sale is made.

Like and share if u agree

      • Then PayPal and Bose are doing something illegal by allowing Bose to charge people at different prices as to what its' shown on the order confirmation email. What made it worse that they did not inform their customer that this is their intention.

        • You’re right, it’s very shady even though we used 2 coupons that probably isn’t inline with their terms. But I bet even in PayPal’s Terms of use there’s something that lets it happen. Gonna be complaining if it happens to me

      • +1

        I'm calling bs on this.

We already have the transaction proof via e-mail, it states the price including shipping costing $0.

I'd imagine there would be a lot of legal issues if they try doing that.

ACCC would have a field day if Bose tries doing that.

I'd imagine they need to ask the customer or at least notify them of the change and would need their confirmation.

        • +1

They shouldn't, but Bose has done this with other purchases. Because 'authorisation holds' (cc/Paypal etc) are used as payment or part-payment for an item, a top-up charge of up to 20% is often available depending on the merchant/bank combination. This works best where a price may be ambiguous at the time of ordering. Bose have bumped a few $143 orders to $159, but I think the difference in this case will be too much and if anything orders will be accepted or outright cancelled because the difference is beyond what they can charge via the top-up procedure on authorisation holds.

          • +1

@Heaps for Cheaps: Didn't know about the 20% thing, I'll keep track of the amount pending in my paypal.

            Thanks

            • +1

@BarginGrabber: "I'll keep track of the amount pending in my paypal."

I have ordered, also for $101.xx, so good luck to both of us and hoping it comes through. FINGERS CROSSED but my gut is leaning towards a positive outcome :)

          • +5

            @Heaps for Cheaps:

This works best where a price may be ambiguous at the time of ordering.

            You're kidding aren't you?!
There is NOTHING ambiguous about the order confirmation we got. It has the order number and the order TOTAL - $101.97

A company can't just up the price because they want to charge you more. They have the choice of accepting the order price, contacting you and advising of an incorrect price, or cancelling the order.
Sending out the product and charging more is fraud, pure and simple. The fact that they didn't mean to charge a lower price is on them, and their hopeless website that accepted the coupons.

            • @starionx: "You're kidding aren't you?!"

You are correct, there is nothing ambiguous about this situation and the top-up merchant system should not be used and can't anyway for such a large price difference… but in any case, I am keeping a careful eye on my online bank statement…

A few years back Harvey Norman phoned my friend and asked him to come back in and pay an extra $300 for his portable air con as it wasn't meant to be $450, but $750… He told them, that yes, he will bring it in but it's opened, used & missing the box… and they just 'don't bother, keep it'…

A true Ozbargainer will give it a go. PayPal complaint, charge back on the credit card, ACL false and misleading conduct… It's a matter of pride.

      • +1

        😂😂

      • This become interesting even I bought nothing ,the most important I guess is get the items and easy to get different amount if they dare to charge more money

  • +2

My Paypal still shows the $101.97 purchase.
Though my netbanking account doesn't show paypal taking the money yet….

    • +1

      Purchase or authorisation?

      • +1

        Says its Pending.

"This is a temporary authorisation to make sure your payment method can cover the payment. Your payment method will be charged when Bose Pty Ltd completes your order."

I have paypal linked to my bank account, always works. Never needed to top up my paypal account.

Did recieve a confirmation email yesterday though.

Do i top up my paypal acct to speed this up ?

        • +2

I have the same thing. There are people that had that and then suddenly got charged a higher amount without being informed. Apparently Bose and a handful other big names could do that?

    • +4

No, I knew the price was $101.97, because that's what it said at every relevant stage.

I ordered December 8 for $143 with Paypal
    Order confirmation same day $143
    Shipped December 9th
    Bose emailed invoice for $160
    Arrived December 10th

    Just checked PayPal… somehow it's become $160!!!
Still have the PayPal email from December 8 showing $143

    • +6

At the very least Bose needed to let you know that it was a website glitch, that the up charge was gonna happen and ask if you'd like to proceed with the order. Ridiculous. Otherwise what's the point of the order confirmation email confirming the price?

      • +2

        I didn't even know that was possible…
I only checked my account because of the comments here

Reporting it with Paypal, sending proof of both Paypal & Bose receipts
Now I don't know whether they'll ask for it back; already opened it :/

        • +1

I think because it's directly from their website there's a 30-day return period even if you opened and used it.

  • +1

The order confirmation wasn't really an invoice. I suspect Paypal would want to see invoice for that particular purchase rather than a confirmation order.. Hmm can go either way tbh

    • +2

I don't understand how Bose can change the price when it's via Paypal
I've checked my account and they haven't been setup for automatic payments (like other stores try…)

Zero notifications except for an invoice AFTER they've already sent it

I only for got ripped $17 but sounds like others it's going to be $60
Keep an eye on your Paypal accounts

      • +1

Suggest calling them and get them to explain, maybe post it on thier Facebook page too

  • +12

If Bose try to charge me 1 cent more than $101.97 they are going to be reported for misleading practice. Like most others here I have an invoice and a PayPal receipt showing price agreed.
On the other hand, if they cancel the order due to price error, then that’s another thing. We’re used to that here on OzB.

  • +8

We can easily bombard thier FB page reporting them this misleading practice , reputation down the drain

  • So I purchased the BOSE comfort 35 which came to $324.21 yesterday before seeing this deal. The item was delivered today. After reading all the comments I noticed on my paypal $339.95 was charged for the headphones

However on the confirmation Email (from Bose) and original PayPal email it showed $324.21. My bank account also shows $324.21…

I received a tax invoice which states $339.95. So I believe they are increasing prices.

However my speakers are still showing as $101.xx on PayPal so hopefully, it doesn’t get cancelled

  • So one of my Paypal transaction has disappeared and I have no idea if I got the money back into my bank.

However, I luckily took a photo of the transaction ID so I'll call Paypal and see what happened to it.

If it got refunded, I don't mind but just want to make sure.

  • +2

Is deleting Paypal for now - or removing all payment/card linkages - too drastic a step or even effective?

    • +1

I'd be carefull doign that, they may ban you for "high risk" activity

and trust me it's a pain in the arse when they ban

  • I bought the 300 speaker with the first deal a few days ago. Yesterday I got an invoice and the item the turned up today.

A few minutes ago I got an invoice for the 500 series speaker that I got through this deal.
Invoice is for $450.45 where PayPal says $319.97 it looks like they removed one of the coupons and just sent the speaker out.

    • Which amount has come out of your credit card/bank account?

      • On my statement it shows $319.97 but I don't think it's been authorized as it just says purchase and it's in gray. Previous purchases list the seller and are in blue.
Will wait and see I guess.

  • The email that came after ordering had a link to view it online. It was working yesterday, not anymore.

The order's as good as dead.

  • My auth of $101.97 just changed to an actual charge. Amount is still $101.97. Wonder what happens next?

    • +1

Same here, hoping I get one

    • Mine disappeared in both paypal and cc. Only 159.95 one got through

  • +8

From my past experience from bunning gift card/drone:
*Do not try to contact them
*Be patient until they call u
*Keep the eyes on your money
*Relax and do not give urself much hope

    • +4

Bunnings are a very casual store, but management is very professional. Bose on the other hand are Professional looking store/products but management is piss poor.

  • +2

I just received tracking no for my Bose 300 order.

I haven't received any update regarding my other separate order for Mini II.

    • +1

Paypal still shows Pending Authorisation with double-discounts: $159.97 (down from $299.95) for Bose300

    • May I ask how much you got that for?

  • Has anyone been asked to forward the order confirmation email to Bose?

  • Weird. Payment is pending according to Amex statement (Amex is processing presumably)

    Transaction is AWOL on Paypal.

Yet, clicking the link from Paypal confirmation email, the transaction is still there.

    What gives?!

  • -1

I have just spoken to someone on live chat and they are charging me $169.95 when my paypal and order confirmation is for $101.97. Was told that this would be "escalated to their back office" and I will receive a call sometime today with a solution. Not holding my breath but it would likely be for a cancellation of the order unless you are happy to take it at $169.95 or $140+.

    • +1

They won’t call you back. They said the same to me before I got the invoice with the new amount they will call me back but never did. Called them back next day after I got the invoice and they just stood firm saying that’s management decision. Call centre people has no power but to process orders or returns.

      • +3

I was about to call Bose to see whats up, but I think I'm gonna just wait and see.

Honestly, as has happened in the past, when there's some kind of issue with a seller, they've just called/email and said sorry, someone made a boo boo. I'd be disappointed naturally but I'm ok with this, sh*t happens.

But if they go ahead and arbitrarily charge a higher price and ship, that …… thats boycott Bose territory

Heck, an outright cancellation of the order via email is better than an unauthorised charge.

  • Expected delivery from chat - 16/12/19

    • That's what I was told, too

  • +3

It seems like people haven’t learnt from previous deals and continue to contact the store. What gives? 🤷‍♂️
