I think we have a slightly twisted morality and its ok to rip off/try it on with big business but not smaller/battlers :)
Dear Customer,
We first apologize and regret to inform you that, as per our system error in pricing, the cost of the Sigma APO 120-400mm f4.5-5.6 DG OS HSM lenses should be AU$700.00 instead of the AU$70.00 originally listed.
In view of this, we are now offering a discounted special price of AU$685.00 for this item plus offering you with a free camera & lens cleaning kit valued at AU$12.00 if you would still like to continue with the order. Pls help confirm with a return email, and we will arrange for a new revised total amount for you and suggest a payment method for the difference.
Alternatively, you can choose to cancel the order and we will arrange immediate refund back to your Paypal/Bank account or your credit card if payment has already been processed.
Once again, we do apologize for the inconvenience caused.

Regards,
eGlobaLNow the smart way to do this would have been to go to a local camera shop and ask them to price match the website. Because it is a .com.au site, the importers (CR Kennedy in WA) allow the shops o price match any .au online price with local stock.
no local stores would have been open last night when this "deal" was posted
plus there's no price to match, it is listed as $700 now.
I don't think they would have price-matched it.
now that they have brand awareness they should hold a special to snap up tons of customers…. i need a low end digital camera. preferably a lumix please :D
a free camera & lens cleaning kit valued at AU$12.00
Depends which free camera they're giving away; they can keep the lens cleaning kit ;)
1D MkIV I believe
I think what they are trying to say is you will get a cleaning kit that you can clean either your camera or lenses lol

facepalm
I got the email too.
No lens, as expected.
I did once get a tokina 12-24mm version 2 for $289 on ebay. Was a type, meant to be $589 and they honoured the sale!
Got a 'refund' or pay ~$700 email.

So does this one have a thermos interior or is it just plastic? I like to keep my coffee warm.
A no go people, just received the cancelation e-mail
In Taiwan, the law will ENFORCE busniness sellers to sell a product at the listed price even if the price is mistakenly placed. And I am not joking!
Used to be the same here too, I remember getting a few bargains from misprints many years ago; but the laws seem to have changed. Presumably this to encompass the dynamic nature of the market & different business models nowadays, where the pressure to keep pricing fluid means mistakes can & do happen when online content isn't vetted to the same degree as print media for instance.
It wouldn't really be fair to expect the business to cop a $600+ loss for a typo, well IMHO anyway! ;)
Has anyone who paid by Paypal received a refund yet?
$700 for a thermos?! what a ripoff!!!
You forgot the free embedded glass lid that comes with it.
Thermal glass too IIRC! ;)

Don't open a business then if you have not grasped the importance of ethics and honesty, you will fail.
