Looking to upgrade to a larger screen soon and LG will be top of my list.
We have had a 42" LG lcd for the past 3yrs and it is briliant (it is the real thing, not a chung ho brand which may have a whaterver panel in it, it's a pleasure to watch.
Much better than our 42" Panasonic plasma and 26" Hisense lcd. Friend has a 55" Samsung and is envious of the picture on our LG.
Don't judge a set by how they are setup in the shop. Common sense.
Plasma kills this deal IMO.

What's the power usage?
it is 5 star rating, about 550, which is inline with other 50' plasmas
Is Plasma for 3D alright? Any comments or spec guys?
Considering it given the amex rebate and Soniq 42 inch Full HD (not 3D) in JB is close to $700…Seriously would not compare a Soniq with a reputable brand.

not a huge fan of LG though for pannels, that said the soniq was good…(which i thought had one)
seen some LGs next to better brand TV and you can definatly tell the difference.
best to have a look before buying as it could be fine.
