    Should be 24 threads?

    • fixed :p

  • People missed this one the other day

  • its only $789 at umart, so that original price is jacked high

  • Any good deals in m.2 NVMe drives

  • I managed to pick one up from the deal cdaddy linked, now on the look out for a nice quad channel ram kit, 3600mhz with c16 latency, any one seen any good deals?

    • +1

Quad channel? I would 1st check the Mobo QVL, some mobo doesn't like quad channel.

      • Sorry, not quad channel, but quad stick? looking at 4x 8gb stick packs..

        • Are 2 sets of dual channel faster than 1 set of dual channel memory or something?

Personally i would rather run 2x16gb to save of power.

You dont need to get a kit with 4x8, just get 2 sets of 2x8 if its easier to buy

  • ShoppingEx website also has some decent sales too although shipping is not Inc. link 2060 super seems ok Price as well as ryzen CPU and ram..

    • Is shopping express legit?

Given if you are not going through ebay, rather directly to their website, there is no one intermediating the purchase. Any experience?

Yeh they seem fine, I've gotten a few things in the past but nothing substantial. Sd cards, ssd's etc… No issues though.

Awesome! Really tempted to swap out my less than one month old 3800X for this!

    • Do it!

    • +2

There won't be much difference for tasks that aren't limited by cores so not a great idea unless you are.

    • Have you oced your 3800X? If yes, to what speed, voltage and cooler?

  • The $15 shipping kind of ruins it if you don’t have ebay plus

  • I’ve got this cpu and it's excellent but the stock cooler gets very load so need to invest in a proper/quieter cooler

  • AMD yes!

  • Anybody keen on the 3950x? Seems like I will be waiting until next year…

    • 3950x has 4 more cores than 3900x, it has more processing power but overkill for most games and applications - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k6K6bQfKfgY

3950x is currently nearly doubled the price than 3900x, 3900x is definitely more bang for the buck.

      • Yes it does make you think again doesn't it? 12 cores is more than enough for most things.

    • Yeh i picked up a 3950x on release day. It's absolutely not a good cpu for price/performance if ur not making use of the cores tho (Mine is a gaming PC so i definitely would have been fine with a 3800x even). I just wanted it cuz its potentially a higher binned cpu than the 3900x meaning it should have slightly better performance even in gaming while using either the same if not less power than the lesser cpus.

Cant wait to get the system up and running, theres just a few more water cooling fittings to arrive then i can start running the custom loop. Should be a nice jump from my 9 year old i7 2600k :)

      • I thought too many cores had a negative impact on gaming?

        • generally when a CPU has more cores, the performance of each core is lower, so that can definitely impact gaming performance. The 3950x hasnt sacrificed too much per core performance, so it still does ok. Games in the future are likely to start using more cores/threads as the next gen consoles will come with 8 core cpus i think.

    • I got my 3950X in the mail from PCCasegear yesterday, now need to decide on a motherboard….

  • Unless there's some Ryzen pecularity that I don't know about there's no such thing as "dual channel" RAM because this is determined by CPU.

Any identical sticks can be used in dual or quad configurations.

  • -4

i9 would be a lot better

  • Only if I have extra cash or BTC … only IF

  • Replying to Scrobo (sorry it's in the wrong spot), good luck with the research on the motherboard. I did the same thing, bought this 3900X deal and then had to find the other components. I'm usually with Asus/Gigabyte but ended up going MSI due to what seems better reliability reviews on newegg. And Samsung B-Die RAM is horrendously expensive and difficult to get, I went Micron E-Die modules in the end. Hoping it all works together.
