LSoft Technologies are a Canadian company who make some pretty good Windows-based disk and file tools. Their most popular products are for file and partition recovery, and secure data wiping. The prices in the title are for the Personal editions, corporate editions are moderately more (but still only tens of dollars). They also offer Killdisk enclosures which are essentially hot-swappable SAN enclosures that allow you to plug up to 25 HDD in and securely wipe them all at once.

    So if I have a HDD that has been accidentally wiped, this MAY help to recover the data..?

      That's what the label on the box says. The alternative is to physically send the HDD to a company who will do much the same job and charge you several hundred dollars for the privilege. (We did that at work once and it cost us $1500, but the data recovered was worth far more than that.)
