Hi all,

I was looking for a cheap 4K projector today and came across this site from BenQ selling off the refurbished units.

There are (I think) some good deals in there:

4K
W1700M - $1049
TK800M - $1249
W2700 - $1600 (this is what I was after!)
X12000 - $3049 (the one I really want but … you know … #poor

1080P
SH940 - $549

All units appear to come with a 12 month warranty and pickup in Sydney is free or $15 shipping (fixed) for everyone else.

Seems like a great saving even over current $400 off promo at $2199 on new product - W2700

Cheers,

G

  • Picked up TK800 from last sale about a year ago. Had image issues which took around 6 weeks to sort out but they eventually sorted it for me! Haven't really had any issues since.

Arrived with around 6 lamp hours already used.

Happy with purchase, use it quite a lot!

    • what kind of image issues were you experiencing? Still using a 1080 Epson and been eyeing the TK800 for some time.

Lines across the screen, they'd come and go. They were happy to fix it for free under warranty, just took a bit of time for them to sort it out.

Colour isn't the most accurate, but if you look up some decent settings online you can get it pretty close! I'm just shooting it straight onto my smooth white wall though, so YMMV. I'd say considering it's a very close model to the W2700, at $400 more it wouldn't be worth it.

The extra brightness has been great, for any content or games that aren't super dark it's usable during the day, unless it's super sunny. On an overcast day

I've got a Sony X9000E as my main TV, and thought I'd be still preferring to view certain content on it (especially dark content), but to be honest it's been a relatively close experience for me. Even playing with my Xbox One X, the latency isn't too bad on the projector. If you're picky, obviously it will be an issue, but I'm personally happy playing games where you think it'd be an issue like Six Siege or PUBG.

While it's not TRUE 4K, I can see significant improvement over 1080p content to 4K content. Looks amazing and would definitely recommend this model - especially at this pricepoint.

          *100% True4k - it most certainly is!

it is not native 4K (4096 x 2160) but it does have 8.3million individually addressable pixels on the screen at any given point in time making it True4K or UHD (3840 x 2160) the same resolution.

          TMYK ;)

@OZzieME: My bad, thanks for the correction mate! Native is the word I was looking for :)

            Amazing projector though!

  • Price for all still up. This thread should be on yet
