Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Waterproof 8GB (+ $1 Item) $130 C&C (or + Delivery) @ The Good Guys eBay via App

1610
PAPP100

Greetings everyone, I noticed in the Black Friday Catalogue that TGG are going to drop the Kindle Paperwhite to $149 on Thursday. This can be combined with the current $20 off $150 via the eBay app offer to bring this down to the cheapest price ever.

Need to add $1 or more worth of items to be able to trigger the $20 discount.

Make sure the $1 item is an eligible item as part of the $20 off $150 offer, probably best to choose an item from TGG as there seems to be some errors selecting C&C with items from other sellers.

Ensure that you're spending $150 BEFORE shipping costs also.

Features & details

  • The thinnest, lightest Kindle Paperwhite yet—with a flush-front design and 300 ppi glare-free display that reads like real paper even in bright sunlight.
  • Now waterproof, so you’re free to read and relax at the beach, by the pool, or in the bath.
  • Enjoy twice the storage with 8 GB.
  • A single battery charge lasts weeks, not hours.
  • The built-in adjustable light lets you read indoors and outdoors, day and night.
  • Get instant access to over 5 million titles, including new releases and best sellers.
  • This device does not support playback of Audible audiobooks.

As always, enjoy :)

              • @klonky: Did you get them to price match in store?

                • +1

@AussieDaddy: Yep. Showed them the Harvey Norman site and they said "we generally have to add on the shipping cost to price match", however another manager walked past and said it was fine to do $138.

                  • @klonky: Thanks. Will try my luck with them.

                  • @klonky: Man, I wish you didn't tell me about that HN deal. Myer eBay has it for $119.96 delivered now, and I had GCs I wanted to get rid of as well. :(

  • We have Kindles but rarely use them just use iPads, 20% off books with iTunes vouchers.

  • I got my 3rd gen Paperwhite last year on Prime Day for $129, so this is cheap.

  • Now I can read in the shower, swimming pool, on the beach

What Timezone do ebay au deals follow? AEDT?

    • Interested in this too if anyone knows

Great device, highly recommended if you do a lot of reading. Used to read on my phone but that gets too tiring on your eyes cause of the back-light. With this, you can turn off the back-light and just use normal lightning/lamp to light the screen (like you would a normal book) and since the light isn't coming towards you it is less stressful for your eyes.

    • You can just display the text in white on a black background to avoid the perils of a small light damaging your eyes …

      • no, its the fact that there is a light behind the screen shining towards your face. Even if you make it a black background, there is still a light being emitted from behind. And its not really about damaging your eyes, it's just tiring because it makes your eyes keep constantly focusing or something.

Been great since I got the kindle, absolutely love it :)

  • Does the item you buy for $1 to take it to $150 have to be from same seller?

  • +3

Fingers crossed some of you may end up with the 32Gb version in error due to the sales staff at TGG nonchalant attitude in checking which box they take off the shelf when doing a C&C.

Was a nice surprise once I got home.

    • +1

      C&C or delivery?

      • +3

Thanks for the negs. It was C&C.

        • +1

          Have a plus.

  • I don't get the big deal about Overdrive, you can access it from a web browser …

    • Sure, but this is a post about e-ink e-readers. You can also read Kindle books on a PC, but it won't be as nice as an e-reader. Likewise, whilst reading library books through Overdrive can be done through a computer's web browser, it won't be as nice as an e-reader… at least to people who prefer e-ink screens and light, portable devices.

Can't seem to select a location for C+C on mobile app, keeps getting an error "Missing Pudo Programs Ids"?

    • Same. I'm sick of buggy apps.

    • +3

The issue seems to occur when you select another item in cart. Try to change/remove another item. This works for me.

      • +1

You are right, once I remove everything except the Kindle, it works. Or if I add another item from TGG, it works.

  • Dumb question but are there any health benefits for my eyes from using this vs just using google books app on my smartphone (what I'm doing now)?

    • From health perspective, I guess no blue light from a phone screen by using a kindle. It uses E-ink technology unlike LEDs from phones so its better to read from a kindle or book than on your smartphone at night.

      • Less eye strain, so you'll be able to read longer without feeling tired.

      • I know it's 'better' for your eyes short term because it doesn't put as much strain on them but for me that isn't a problem so I was wondering about any LONG TERM health benefits from using this vs a phone. Also the google app has a built in blue light filter which I have enabled.

  • Is anyone only getting $10 off? I have $150+ items in my cart but the code is only taking $10 off.

    • Same. I am only getting $10 off. Deal breaker

    • Bought mine just before 7am and got $20 off, just had another $1 filler item from an unrelated store in my cart too. $140 is still a good price though!

    • Not working for all items, I tried a few and sd card adapter worked for me.

  • got one. thanks!
As mentioned above, C&C doesn't work right now. So expect $6 delivery fee.

  • I just ordered, and both click and collect and $20 off worked for me. Christmas present sorted!

    • Appears only approved items will give the extra $10 off. What was your approved $1 item?

    • How did you get click and collect to work?

      • Mine wouldn't work for C&C. Selected delivery and it went thru for me.

  • So this deal doesn't work then

  • $20 dollar discount didn't trigger though?

  • +1

OP, perhaps add in description: $1 item from TGG to activate $20 off. Approved items/sellers only.

    • Thanks for that, have added in a blurb to try and explain further how to get it.

  • Nothing on GG for a $1, cheapest i could find is power adapter $2.95 but not in local store.

  • Got one

  • +2

To those who can't get it to work, just add the Kindle and another $1.40 (screen protector) from TGG, then check out. To get the $1.40 to work C+C, you will most likely need to locate a store that's in another state that has stock. You will end up paying $130.40 and abandoning the screen protector.

Thanks doweyy. Picked mine up today along with a pack of batteries.

    Nice! thanks OP

This micro usb adaptor for $1 mentioned in the inked original coupon post worked to get it to $150 & activate

Just a heads up, it's now $126.65 C&C at The Good Guys or +delivery.

  • I can't get the code to work, and I've added the required amount from TGG. Keep getting "looks like the wrong code, double check and try again". Any ideas??

  • Good deal but all gone.

Had to resort to Amazon with cashback instead (plus amex promo so still good)

  • Has TGG posted anyone's kindle till today? I checked the status on ebay but mine has not been posted yet.

    • +1

      Received mine yesterday.

    • Was starting to wonder too as it was due on 3-4th Dec, but just received mine today. Mine is still marked as not sent on Ebay so wouldn't worry about that

      • No worries. I received the delivery tracking details today. Enjoy your kindle
