  • AWESOME !!!

  • Oh Man! wish this deal came two days ago :( I just booked my flight cathay from perth to delhi for $1300. They have it for $1220. $80 cheap…

Cathay from Perth? Shoulda gone AirAsia via KL mate, even cheaper! besharam!

For me the only enticing fares on OP's list are Ho Chi Minh and Delhi in terms of a bargain, exceptional even.

However the other destinations are cheap for flying a quality airline like SIA, but not bargains per se.

      • not a fan of airasia even thou i havnt traveled airasia.

SIA also charges $25 booking fee on top of the fare price. I am happy with wt i paid with Cathay considering not a major difference

how can you on one hand, wish for the $80 saving (small) but then claim that you're not a fan of cheap tix via air asia even though you've never tried them?

        • +3

perhaps he likes a full service carrier over low cost carrier?

        • +3

they're fine, especially within in Asia.
I probably won't fly to London with them, but a 8hr flight is fine. Theshort haul flights within Asia, I wouldn't think twice, their planes are new, comfortable & reliable. In fact tey're the onlyairline I've ever flown who decided to take off early because everyone was on board! BTW the food is excellent.

        • no, the price is all inclusive, whereas with Qantas there's a $30 transaction fee that pops up at the very end. You can also select seats whereas Qantas charges for "advanced seat selection".

AirAsia is awesome. From my other posts/comments elsewhere you can see that I'm a real hater of Tiger. But AirAsia always served me great on around 15 different trips so far. Even once when we were stranded in Chiang Mai due to a plane technicality they paid accommodation and went out of their way to help, even changing all connecting flights. I'm really impressed with them. They've been voted World's best budget airline for some years. And no, I do not work for them :)

qantas doesn't charge for seat selection if you have status with them ;) they only charge the plebs :)

        • @castrom - hey did they only pay for your accomodation? thats it? I had a 4 hour delay once with air asia, they gave a meal voucher, and when I got home, they sent me a evoucher for $60 (which was nearly the whole price of the ticket) (macau - kl).

Only thing bad about them is the shed of an airport @ KL and they are a very diligent on baggage.

        • The reason i was a bit disappointed was coz i like SIA service better than cathay..so if i had an option i wud hv chosen SIA..in the comments above i m just trying to make myself feel better

    • Cathy is overall a better airline then Singapore, i wouldn't worry about that extra $80

      • Mmmm… YEp, I'm sure Cathy would be better!

      • Cathay hostesses in business class don't hold a candle to Singapore Airlines equivalents

Singapore girl you are a great way to fly :)

  • Can't find any of those 2k London fares?

  • wow the page is fail in FF5 but fine in IE9

  • i didn't get any 25$ charge with booking fee

It's not clear if the fares quoted include Airline Surcharges and Gov't/Airport Taxes. I suspect not, in which case the final fares would be at least 20% higher. Can anyone confirm this?

    • Did you bother to scroll down and have a look?

      1. All fares shown above are per person, return, in Economy Class and include the price of the air ticket, associated taxes, levies, surcharges, calculated as at 22 July 2011. 2. Taxes and surcharges are subject to change due to currency fluctuations. 3. All prices include an AUD 25 service fee for payments made by credit card or PayPal. 4. All fares are ineligible for KrisFlyer mileage accrual or upgrade redemption. 5. Fares are available for booking and payment from 30 July 2011 until 19 August 2011. 6. The above fares are low season offers only and are available for selected departure dates between 1 August 2011 to 30 November 2011, and 16 January 2012 to 29 February 2012. Other prices may apply for departures outside of low season periods or where there is no availability. *$808, return Economy Class MEL to SIN.
      • Thanks for the info. I didn't see this because the page showed only flights from Adelaide and Brisbane and I went straight to the offer page for another departing destination which did not show this.

    • the price when i booked included taxes and surchages etc,

it's very clear before you press Book :)

    • +1

It is illegal for fares to be advertised with additional surchages and taxes in Australia. So any fare you see advertised for the Australian market will always be teh all inclusive price.

Travel Period 16 Jan 2012 - 29 Feb 2012 is not valid for Delhi (from Sydney) and is valid for all the other mentioned cities…what the hell?

  • For the London people, Emirates has a sale on now for $1,928 return to London or $1,819 to Paris, similar travel periods to this sale.

    • emirates.com/au
  • Cathay has pretty decent prices, today is the last day i think

  • Guys here is a full list of the UK deals at the moment. Then just head to the airline's website to find them, to avoid any fees by bestflights.

  • Singapore Airlines new website is total let down. Timeout/Crash every single time I try to search for a flight.

    • Agreed. Absolute crap…trying to find lowest fares, shuffle dates, etc is useless.
