Spend $10 Get $5 Back, Spend $20 Get $10 Back, Spend $30 Get $15 Back @ Cashrewards (Activation Required)

810

Just received an email from Cashrewards, most likely targeted. Like everyone else, I haven't been using Cashrewards (only Shopback) recently so maybe that triggers the offer? not sure really. My offer expiry date is 26th nov, not sure others may be different.
Process is simple, click activate from the newsletter, login and activate on web. I can't seem to find it on my profile initially, I guess have to go through from eDM.

After that, I only saw this T&Cs:

• Valid only for members that receive a bonus invitation email from Cashrewards.
• Limit 1 bonus per Cashrewards account, irrespective of the number of purchases made.
• Bonus must be activated prior to making an eligible purchase of AUD $30 (inc GST) or more through Cashrewards.
• Bonus not valid on Woolworths Gift Card purchases.
• Purchase must be made between 00:00am AEDT 22/11/19 and 11:59pm AEDT 26/11/19.
• Bonus not valid if fraudulent activity is detected or if a gift card is purchased or used as payment.
• Bonus not valid if an order is cancelled, changed, returned, rejected by the store, or if you purchase an ineligible product.
• Normal advertised cashback rates still apply.
• Bonus will be credited to your Cashrewards account by 31/01/2020.

Hope it helps, happy shopping!

Mod Note: From Rep - Deal is extended to Nov 30 for those targeted.

  • i got the same offer, however have no idea what to buy. maybe some beer. not sure if it works with codes

  • No email for me :(

    • +1

Have you used Cashrewards recently? It looks like this offer is targeted at people who haven't used it in a while. I got it but probably because like OP I've only been using Shopback lately.

      • Yeah I have recently, about $1.50 in total cash back… lol

  • +3

Mine just says "Just shop at your favourite stores using Cashrewards and we’ll credit your account with $5 for you to withdraw and spend on anything you like" and doesn't mention a minimum spend.

    • Same!

      • +1

All three advertised offers have minimum spend requirements as per the title in this post. You must click out from the targeted email, activate the offer, and please ensure you read the terms on the activation page. Thank you.

        • Is in-store purchase count?

  • Cheers, got the spend $30 get $15 back offer.

  • -4

I got an email for both $5 and $15.

    Activated both - reckon I'll get $20 back if I spend $30?

  • +1

no email for me, can i still get anything?

  • +13

Did not get this, will stop using cashrewards and keep using shopback. Thanks Cashrewards.

    • +5

Yes a promo like this is probably a bit silly given it will probably annoy as many as it will encourage.

More fool me for actually using Cash Rewards and being punished.

      • +6

I really struggle with this attitude. No, you didn't get 'punished'. Someone else benefited and you did not; that does not mean you got punished, it just means they benefited and you didn't. You were never entitled to that money. How anyone can complain that a company didn't give them free money blows my mind.

        • +6

          Here, reworded it.

'More fool me for actually using Cash Rewards and not being rewarded.'

Someone who's loyal does not get rewarded vs someone who isn't does. Moral of story: don't stick to one brand!

        • +5

'Punished' is probably an extreme way to say it, but he isn't exactly wrong.
This whole exclusive deal (and i'd say one of the best deals, esp if u get the $15 off $30) that's only given to non-frequent users only tells me that I should never ever use cashrewards because Shopback exists and deals like this also happen. And Omitsukasa is right, it doesn't reward loyal customers.

We are still also assuming that this is given to only non-frequent customers, but it does look that way.

Are you serious? So when Coles runs targeted Flybuys deals, you only ever shop at Woolies from then on? When Aldi has a deal in only one of their stores, you never shop there again? When eBay have targeted coupons, you only shop at Amazon?

I highly doubt it. Might as well not be a consumer at all if you don't like targeted deals to attract new/dormant users to a platform or store. That's what competition is based on, nothing stopping you from being with both cashback services and getting deals from both.

Flybuys points are dumb and shouldn't be a part of your purchase consideration. There's an episode on the checkout about flybuys points you should watch that. I shop wherever there are items that I want that's on discount.

I use cashback services only for ebay/amazon. These two shops have very much identical cashback rates in Shopback and Cashrewards. Now, why would I ever use Cashrewards if I can use Shopback for the exact same cashback, while also potentially getting more targeted coupons from cashrewards due to my inactivity?

Your comparison isn't very relevant because these shops have different deals at different times.

  • Does the minimum spend in 1 transaction or can be multiple adding up to the minimum spend?

    • Also curious to know, bought from Amazon, my receipt from Amazon shows a price of $31.48.

Email tracking from Cashrewards shows a value of $28.62

Multiple purchases from Amazon but only 1 tracking email received…. more than likely the reason I've not used them for a while.

  • Also received $15 cashback with $30 spend

  • +4

    Nothing.

TA can you target me please

  • Can we use voucher code for this? Or only CR approved ones?

    • Sorry, missed this question. Please see here.

  • Can we use that $10 off offer which issued by amazon recently to buy something?

  • No email. Would love TA to target me 😂 I use cashrewards alot

  • Got the email and made a purchase. That tracked but the $15 bonus hasn't been added.

    • +4

It's always important to check the OP 😉

Bonus will be credited to your Cashrewards account by 31/01/2020.

      • Wow completely missed that. I'm a habitual skim reader. I get 90% of the information 40% of the time ;)

  • Got nada! This is like the flybuys and eBay's encouragement offers. I should use CR less it seems xD.

    • Yeah I get those $5 - $20 from ebay all the time.
      Got $15 from cash rewards.

  • +1

Didn't realise I got the email this arvo. Clicked on the link and it says I need to spend $30 and they'll give me $15 back

  • There's nothing in my email about there being a minimum purchase.

    • Please see here.

      • Can we use voucher code with this offer?

        • I would like to use this on Under Armour with their current discount code but as there’s no advice on this in the offer conditions and no response from the rep I’ll take that as a no.

          • @Sweet3st: Hi. Apologies but not always online to respond. All the regular Cashback conditions apply to this promo as they do for BAU Cashback. If the code is not listed on Cashrewards, there’s always the chance the store will not commission the sale to us. Having said that, if you need to buy anyway, you have nothing to lose by trying to use the code. Thank you.

      • +4

The fact that there is nothing on the initial email about a minimum purchase required makes the offer deceptive and misleading advertising.

Due to problems between my web browser and the cash rewards website I couldn't even view the terms and conditions.

I had to forward the email to another device so I could actually read the terms and conditions.

I've activated the offer now but I doubt I'll use the offer. I don't like making online transactions from my tablet as it has less security than my desktop computer and it's a pain logging into the cash rewards site and having to manually type in a 30 character password, which I can usually copy and paste from my desktop computer.

"We’ve missed you at Cashrewards. 💔

And to show you we really mean it, we want to give you $15 to welcome you back."

This wording in the email now seems totally false and insincere given the terms and conditions of the offer. "give" implies a "gift" and gifts are given without there being any cost to the receiver.

  • I got this, shame it's a little late as I don't have anything to buy at the moment..haha 😭

  • +1

    I’m sad I’m unloved

  • TA, is it still valid when using a Coupon on eBay?

    • No, sorry. All the normal Cashback terms apply.

      • Ah nuts i didn't realise this. I ordered 3 things in one go ($20, $10, $10) but used a 5% code that only applied to a single item. Does that mean it cancels out the whole bonus?

  • +1

I apparently use it too much. Even though I don't use it nearly as much as Shopback.

I know this is pure marketing, but I have the Shopback app and not the CR app - haven't seen any incentive to download it.

  • Is there a way to can check whether everything has tracked well once activated and ordered?

  • Can I buy gift cards on ebay then eligible for cashback?

    • No. All normal Cashback terms apply.

      • -1

How about gift cards via Australia post with the 1.5% cashback

        • As TA said, all normal cashback conditions apply. So because this generates a sale and you get cashback, it will be fine.

          • -1

@ahc99: Thanks Andrew. Just confirming due to the condition

Bonus not valid if fraudulent activity is detected or if a gift card is purchased or used as payment.

  • If I go to eBay and buy two separate items from same seller via Cashrewards, with total amount >$30 through the same checkout, will I be entitled to $15 cash back please?

    • +2

Provided it’s all done in one single transaction then yes.

  • Hi, can I use an in store offer for $30 and will it count for $15 cash back

    • Sure can.

      • +1

        thanks for your reply.

  • *edit

  • Sweet deal. Got the $30 for $15 spend.

I am now a loyal cashrewards fan. Bad experience with shopback and a rejected claim.

  • So I activated this offer made a purchase, but nothing is showing up in my account other than the purchase is tracked.

    • +1

That's correct. Please read the very last term on the activation page. Thanks.

Bonus will be credited to your Cashrewards account by 31/01/2020.

      • Hey TA - if ordering off Amazon, each item in the cart tracks separately. Does it have to be one item above the minimum spend, or is total order okay?

        • Hi pifts. As per a previous response above, provided it’s all done in one single transaction then yes.

          • @tightarse: Will it be a valid transaction if I use Groupon credits to buy something on Groupon?

  • Has anyone had issues with this tracking. I have had the transaction track, but not the bonus Cash Back of $15. Been 4 Days.

    • The most asked question in every post lol. Please read the OP and the terms in the offer you received :)

Bonus will be credited to your Cashrewards account by 31/01/2020.

      • Thanks TA. I thought I would see it tracked as a Pending thats all. I knew it wouldn't be credited for a while.

      • Hi tightarse, i got a tracking issue as well, for ebay purchase made on Sat and Mon, no tracking email received and is not under my rewards account.

        • eBay is very slow to track as stated in other posts. Can take 4 days or more to land, provided you've not used codes. Thanks.

          • @tightarse: I used the 20% off code… is this a problem? thans.

            • @jjj123: eBay terms:

Cashback is ineligible if discount coupons or promo codes are applied to any transaction.

              • +1

                @tightarse: @tightarse

If I make an eBay purchase I understand if I use a coupon code the 1% cashback will be declined as expected but will the $15 bonus still be credited to my account because I still shopped "at my favourite store using Cashrewards" as stated in the email.

                Cheers

                • +1

@gilmour: No, because all normal cashback conditions still apply. As per the terms on click-through to the activation page:

Bonus not valid if an order is cancelled, changed, returned, rejected by the store, or if you purchase an ineligible product.

                  • -1

@tightarse: gilmour has found another example of the initial email being deceptive and false. If they don't receive the promised cashback, they have grounds for an appeal and manual credit as they did shop at their favourite store using Cashrewards.

By the way,the reminder email I received was less deceptive than the initial email I received. The reminder email had some tiny tiny tiny print which declared the minimum transaction amount required to receive the cashback.

                  • +1

@tightarse: Thanks for clearing that up.

Appreciate all the offers we do get but this email promotion was a bit click baity offering 'x' amount bonus from Cashrewards just by shopping at your favourite store. As I read it this is a bonus Cashrewards are giving to its users to encourage them to shop, and has nothing to do with any cashback offers that any of the stores provide.

Yes, everything depends on the T&C but even that was very unclear.
"Bonus not valid if an order is cancelled, changed, returned, rejected by the store, or if you purchase an ineligible product".
This important part of the T&C which uses the word order implies it is referencing the actual item or service you purchased and nothing to do with whatever cashback is being offered or if it gets received.

It should have been made very clear in the activation bonus T&C page that 'denied cashbacks' will also negate you receiving the 'Bonus' that Cashrewards is separately offering to its users.

                    Cheers

                  • @tightarse: I guess this also applies to 10OFF for Groupon, since I can't see it on the Cashrewards app?

  • Hi OP, if i go for this offer with minimum spend $30 for $15 cashback, will it be okay with the promotion code applied?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/498402#comment-8002312

  • Can we expect a non-targeted Black Friday cashreward special?

  • I got two emails: "Spend $10 Get $5 Back" and "Spend $30 Get $15 Back". Does that mean if I make two transactions, one greater than $10 and one greater than $30, I get both cashbacks or are we eligible for just one?

    Thanks

    • I’m not sure too but that would be sooo cool lol

  • Hi OP, activated the bonus offer yesterday.

Made the purchase on amazon for more than $60, no coupons used but no tracking email received yet.

Don't want to miss out on regular cashback as well as $15 cashback.

    Has it happened to anyone?

  • I think the offer has been extended.

  • +1

    Hi OP,

I purchased 2 items worth more than $20 in one transaction, but cashrewards tracked them individually.

Am I still getting $10 rewards for spending more than $20?

  • lol i didn't want to force myself into buying something purely based on this cashback so I just ignored it.. turns out they extended it and I might actually buy something for black Friday :)

  • I have received the “offer extended” email today but I activated the previous link Monday 25/11 (I can see the link in my browser history) and bought more than $30 worth of stuff in one transaction last night on eBay which I can see the eBay click on Cashrewards app … will I get the $15 or do I have to buy again with the “offer extended” email link? (I realise I don’t get the cash back til end of January at the latest) it took me way too long to find something to buy and I bought something that I could have got cheaper elsewhere but the $15 off made it a bargain/cheaper than elsewhere

  • Hi TA

I activated the offer Spend $30 get $15 and made a purchase on ebay australia for exactly $30 without any coupon.
The amount shown for the cashrewards tracked transaction has come through as $29.97 and not $30.
I can' work out why it is 3 cents less on cashrewards?
Do I still meet the requirements for the minimum spend of $30 given this has happened?

    • I noticed a similar situation I made a purchase on Amazon for $32.99 I checked cash rewards website and my purchase had tracked and the price was 29 99 I'm pretty sure the cashback they do not include GST

But for these offers I believe it states including GST

Hopefully TA can clarify but I believe this is how it works I was a little worried and then doublechecked it stated an eligible purchase of AUD $30 (inc GST)

      So we should be eligible

      • +1

You are. As per the terms in other posts:

Sales may report to Cashrewards ex GST so the amount shown in your account may be less than $xx. You will still be eligible for the bonus.

        • Thanks for the quick response :) much appreciated

          • +1

@Sammy Boi: Not a problem at all. Enjoy your weekend.

  • will it track and count if you fill up car with $50 fuel and pay with the linked credit card at caltex instore thus get another $5 back via the caltex promo or is it for only online purchases? will it work for online click and collect woolies or coles groceries?

  • +1

Damn it, just missed out! The email even jokes about holding out for Black Friday deals and it doesn't even last the weekend… :(

  • Please be advised that Cashrewards team did not receive any information from eBay Australia in relation with this order. However, our team will follow up your transaction with the store and we will do our best to fix your rewards.

This is not the first time, I'm 100% sure I didn't use any code, adblock turned off and I didn't open any other website.
    Disappointing.

    • Do you have Honey installed?

      • definitely not, I don't even know what Honey is :D

  • Merged from Did You Already Receive Your Cashback?

As I can’t post in the comment anymore, I wonder if anyone already has the cashback credited into your account?

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/498350

    Cheers

    • No, but let’s see in around 4 hours…

      • Update: checked this morning and all my bonuses are there as expected ;)

    • Yes

      • Did it just come in today?
