  • Bargain. Have a single arm one and I can vouch for it.

hmmm any monitor arm savvy people on ozbargain?

I am looking for a dual arm that can like switch positions.

My setup is an ultrawide non gaming monitor for my work and I have a 144hz gaming monitor as second.

What I want to do is for the arm to be able to vertically mount them So i can swap the top to bottom and bottom to top depending if i am working or gaming…

if that doesnt work, any arms that can do side by side and switch left monitor with right monitor on the go without like unscrewing stuff or pull my desk out?

    • You'd probably need two completely separate arms, and they'd have to be massive to support the vertical movement you're wanting.

In your case, having the two monitors side by side, and sliding/swinging them horizontally (but not overlapping or swapping sides) is your best option I'd think.

      • ahh ok i gotchya. basically have the space for 3 monitors but have only 2 so you can make the left or right one the center one

Cheaper on ebay (kogan) $43.68 - delivered and 12% cashback

    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Kogan-Monitor-Mount-Dual-Gas…

    • Considering you can get free delivery with Kogan vs $59.67 from ebay (to 6000, no free shipping even with plus), not cheaper, really.

I suppose it's different shipping costs to different areas. Mine does show as free

    • Where u r getting 12% cashback?

      • That was from yesterday only

Would this be $2000 if apple sold it?

    • you should consider a job there

Thanks, ordered one. My 28 inch monitor is 8kg, it feels really heavy, but this should take 9kg per arm.

  • how long does the gas spring normally last?

    • 1 year, for the duration of the warranty. Anything more enduring is a bonus.

      • If the monitor is resting on the desk anyway then losing gas won’t be a problem.

        • If the monitor is resting on the desk then what is the use of a gas spring mount?

          • @alvian: Move it around occasionally. But my monitors are so big I want them as close to the desk as I can anyway.

  • Just curious as I've never used a dual monitor setup. These don't pivot, but can you like attach the monitor in portrait mode?

    • +1

Considering that VESA mounts are square, I don't see why not. I have one similar that you can do so.

    • These do seem to pivot actually, though I wouldn’t stress the pivot joint too much. Be gentle and use appropriate tightness you should be fine. Use washers if your monitor looks delicate.

  • Is there any advantage to the gas spring models over the pole versions such as:
    https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/dual-led-monitor-stand-2-arm-ho…
Is it just because the gas spring version can be adjusted without using screws etc? The pole mount stand looks cleaner to me and I'd set the monitors up and leave them anyway. Are there other reasons?

  • Mine arrived. It looks cheap, but feels solid and works well. And the arms are invisible when used anyway. There’s a bit of fiddling and the rotate joint isn’t a smooth action but otherwise for $39 it’s very good.
