Samsung Galaxy S10 128GB 4GX JB HIFI $999

Let me know how you go with Office Works.

Good luck with that Telstra Variant S10.

I have heard of 4G and 5G models, what is 4GX?
so 700 MHz a.k.a. Band 28. It should work fine with other bands. I think the startup animation will have Telstra branding but it's unlocked. Will test this phone out soon.
Telstra model, they like to be different. Uses their 4G radios that are different frequencies
Ok thanks guys
Are these 'telstra 4g' radios OK for roaming OS? Or even other local networks? Surprised there is different hardware in there…
@richadam: So if I buy the 'Optus' S10 it won't work on Telstra's 700 Mhz network?
@fedaykin: It's not that it wont work it's just that you may not get the full coverage as the optus version won't have the 700 Mhz band antenna.
@richadam: Why would Samsung make an S10 specially for Optus that doesn't have 700 Mhz band in the radio?
@fedaykin: I don't know, can't speak for Optus but this is pretty normal to supply slightly different variants to different markets.
@richadam: Yeah, markets means regions/countries. We get global/Asia/Oceania phones, no special "disable a band for a telco". That can be done in firmware, but I haven't seen that in a while. SIM unlocked phones don't have anything like that. These "branded" phones just have preinstalled apps and sometimes a boot up screen.
Might want to add s10+ for $1.199 as well
How is this a deal?
You can buy the same phone direct from Telstra for $900 if you signup for a $15 per month data plan.
You can then cancel the data plan as soon as you get the phone, meaning the phone basically costs $900 including delivery to your home.
Buds bonus applies from Telstra as well.
So $999 at JB or $900 at Telstra?
Was going to say similar.
Sister just got one for $900, added to her existing plan.
No idea why it’s more expensive with this deal, maybe I Store is different to online prices.
I can't find the link for the $15 plan and get the phone at $900 though….
https://www.telstra.com.au/mobile-phones/mobiles-on-a-plan/s…
S10 is $720 now at Telstra (was $900 previously) vs $999 at JB
However they have now changed their conditions so if you cancel your plan, you must pay the full undiscounted remaining cost the phone.
So outright from JB a better deal.
2 days ago you could cancel and payout the device at the undiscounted price!
That's not just $99 cheaper. From Telstra you also get a sim with 5GB of data each month (handy home Internet backup) and you get to pay for the phone in installments over a 12 month period.
EDIT: Actually, wait, I'm confused how this works out as $900; assuming you can do it at all, online support are currently saying you can't. Because right now the minimum spend for an S10 $720. I was assuming 12 months of $15/mo is where the other $180 comes from. However, you can't buy the S10 over 12 months, you need to buy it over 24 months. In which case you're looking at $1080 total.

note: This is a 4GX model with Telestra unlocked and works best with Telstra. I tried price match and Good Guys and they rejected as it is 4GX
