Who pays interest on credit cards :/

      • As a regular ozbargainer, you should always pay off in interest free period. I've never paid interest on my cards.

If you do have a tight financial situation then maybe go for a low rate card, but you should always try to avoid any long term credit card debt.

agree but when someone is against the wall they crucify them, all good though the shareholders are happy. in the late 80's credit card rates where ~2 or 3 above RBA rates, they have never gone down. corporate pirates.

          • @mudguppy1: Unsecured credit that's easily obtainable…
No one makes you take out a credit card and use it

And there's plenty of low rate options out there.

I'm fine with high interest cards giving bonuses

      • Not OzB members!

  • 1 Velocity Point for every 3 Altitude Points…

    Travel insurance

    • I think they would rather you to use the Velocity direct earn option if you want Velocity points now (0.5 points vs 0.3 for Altitude redemption).

However, still not a great card for it, I believe the leader in the non-Black\Amex category is the Coles Mastercard at 0.86 on most spend. Downside is dealing with Shitibank.

  • perhaps wait for the Altitude Black deal.

  • Does the $150 fee get billed at sign up or at second year?
