Did you install one already?
I did.
The screws supplied are thicker. C-clip instalaltion is not really an issue, but square metal plaster brackets are too big for this GPO.
PS The GPO will only fit in the C-clip and none of the others without cutting them first - https://www.isupplyelectrical.com.au/wp-content/uploads/impo…
thanks, planning to use these with C clips
I am not electrician, do I need a license electrician to install this or I can replace my current socket myself?
In Australia all 240v work legally needs to be done by an electrician.
Thanks for your confirmation :)
True. But many DIY.
Heretic!
ordered two as I was already planning to add some powerpoint for TV setup.
Will report back.
As others have noted, these are useless without an electrician to install.
Also due to the transformer they are very bulky at the back. Almost impossible to squeeze it into a solid wall.
So not useless
So cut a suitable section from the solid wall…
Don't try to just magically insert a solid object into a solid object. There is a Mum joke in there somewhere. The solid wall may be a load-bearing section or anything. Don't just go cutting sections from walls without knowing what you're doing.
Looks like just 2.1A across the two sockets, so don't expect to more than trickle charge most newer devices. Also, it seems odd for people to be locking in usb-a at the same time that usb-c is taking off
USB-A will still be the standard for a good decade.
Similar twin pack available from Costco everyday for I think under $30 and occasionally on rebate.
When there is a reasonably priced, high amperage USB in a twin GPO I might buy.
received mine and indeed the screws are thicker gauge than standard C plate screws.
I retapped the thread on the c plates with an M4 and now they fit fine.
The alignment of the holes is also slightly out but that is easily fixed.
Please note there is an issue with this not fitting a standard Aussie C-Clip and screws are not the correct thread. That being said should not be an issue for your sparkie to install.
