When: Saturday 16th November, 3:30 - 4:30pm
Where: Sir Joseph Banks Bushcare site
in the park opp. 10 The Esplanade, Botany NSW 2019, follow the signsWhat you need: Please bring along proof of address as a Bayside Council resident and a box to put your plants in.
Council's Wild Things program is all about helping Bayside residents to create habitat in their own backyards for native wildlife.
On Saturday 16th of November, 3:30 - 4:30pm Sir Joseph Banks park Bushcare site we'll be giving away native plants to help create habitat for small birds.
Many small native birds have disappeared from the suburbs due to the increase in numbers of large carnivorous birds like Currawongs and Magpies that prey on small birds and a decrease in pockets of dense vegetation that small birds need as a place to roost and nest.
The plant give away will be on a first in best dressed, with a limit of 20 plants per household. Plants will be given away in 'groupings' including grasses, ground covers, shrubs and a small tree, so that when planted together in a dense group, you will have created instant small bird habitat in your yard.
We'll be providing you with some information on how to create habitat and other things you can do to attract small birds to your backyard.

Thanks. Glad they're checking for addresses in case any Westies try scam their way in.
