This Samsung is a QLED, which is an actual recognised light emitting technology to assist with brightness and colour.
The Hisense is a ULED, which is just a marketing term used by Hisense to encapsulated a few of their different patents.
You would need to go to the store to judge which you prefer, but on paper I would say the Samsung is worth the price jump.thanks, this is just a previous generation QLED to the current Q90?
I believe they exist in the same generation, but the Q60 is the budget version of the Q90.
Q60 has LED dimming not full array dimming, s***tier speakers, etc.@impoze: Incorrect, the R8 is QLED, they just call it 'Quantum dot'. Think it's because Samsung own the rights the qled name.
I'm hoping the 75R8 because I bought it yesterday :/

Solid budget/low-end TV with excellent out of the box colour accuracy. Just don't expect stunning HDR due to the lack of any local dimming and fairly low peak brightness.
