  Do they have a cheaper variant that maybe still tells the time and used Google assistant.

  Maybe even a cheap wall clock type or wall hanging variant.

  Finding the need for an alarm clock more and more important and if it can do cool stuff like tell me when my next train is coming and stuff then it might be a winner in my books.

  Looks like it has IPS display, didnt think that worked well for a bedside clock, unless its AMOLED?

  Had a similar issue when I setup an old tablet (with ips display) where the backlight was making the room glow, and when I turned down the brighness I couldnt read the actual text/numbers.

    Yep, i have a yale smart lock with a z-wave module linking hass-io bridged to google home. I have disabled 'Hey Google unlock the front door' however from the home app you can unlock it, including remotely.

      Wow, what if the internet was slow and it failed to lock the doors and you already fallen asleep because you are used to have it working.

      Does the lock have a fail-safe to auto lock after 8pm for example?

          I assume you live in an apartment or do not have children? Most teens just walk in walk out carelessly. Parents need to double check at night.
