  • Which one is the latest model from HTC?

    I am new and confused.

  • Good deal! Managed to catch this and got my order through for my wife without hassle this time online without need to telephone. Now, Mr Uniquemobiles- please bring in a new deal for the LG Optimus One P500- the nearest rival to HTC Wildfire. Just check the old thread on your last Optimus One P500 deal- there are quite a few who missed it last time and still waiting. Anyway, thanks for this deal and can we expect one for the LG Optimus One P500 soon? Thanks!

    • Hi there, I will see what i can do next week for you.

Guys, If the C2-01 is a phone of interest don't forget our next MIN2WIN deal which starts at midday today. www.uniquemobiles.com.au

      • Interesting, do you get a lot of take-up with a 1 minute window?

        • Yes the response has been great, Of course some offers do better than others. Thanks guys for all your support.

  • How is the 5MP camera, photo and video good?

    • 5MP camera is exceptionally good coming from a phone, however I can't say the same for video recording :/

  • How come it still say $198 on the website?

    • Hi Wayne, You will need to use the exclsuive link on Ozbargain to get the special price

      • One for $198 seems to be on different platform "Android™ 2.2.1 (Froyo) with HTC Sense™" compared to "Android™ 2.1 (Éclair) with HTC Sense™" for this one

        • Hi, Just to confirm we only carry the one version, The $198 stock is the same is the stock on sale.

        • I am new is it upgradable the OS?

        • Sorry, I'm a bit confused now. So which version of Android is this one please? Thanks.

        • Hi, This is Android 2.2.1

  • Hi there,
Would it be possible to get the white one? Thanks.

  • Hi uniquemobiles, this is a Next G (850MHZ) phone (not a Yes G 900MHZ). Does the internet browsing work with TPG? Would the phone always use 2100MHZ for data connection?

    • +1

Hi, Yes on TPG the phone would use 2100 for data.

  • -1

bought one a few months back for $180, also free shipping so even though this is a good price, it's not red hot. Came with Android 2.2.1 too.

    It's a basic phone.

don't expect fancy things from it.
slow CPU > couldn't run Angry Birds (no picture, just sound)
other apps takes time to load.
    good battery.
you can drop it a few times and it's still ok.

    • Couldn't run Angry Birds …

That is bad and may be too old.

      • even my optus mytab cm7 can run angry birds

        is it really that slow?

    • +2

Are you for real? I have had one of these for about 4 months and play angry birds a lot… It was a bit jumpy once the bird was flung, but only occasionally. I put a faster micro SD card in it and it plays flawlessly now. As this is my first "smart phone" I know there are better ones out there, but I love it!

Hi, I'm quite tempted to buy this. However, from what i understand -
There's two HTC Wildfire's, the A3333 and A3335. I think the A3335 is the NextG version, and the A3333 the normal version.
    Regardless, the point is:
-they both have UMTS2100, and they both are dual 3G band.
    -the NextG version has UMTS850
    -the other version has UMTS900.

If you have the UMTS850 version (i.e. the Telstra version), it will work on the Vodafone/Optus network, your only setback will be that in extended coverage areas, it's usually UMTS900, so your phone will fall back to 2G.

and the one you mentioned is the Next G one

    • Can you explain what the difference with 2G and 3G is then? Calls and text will still work right? I don't know if I should buy this phone since I'm with boost (a reseller of Optus). Any advice from people would be appreciated.

BOught this, but the white version. Got a refund as there were several issues with it, got money back due to ELF. Refund was provided quite fast, but these guys open ALL their stock, seals broken…so the phones are tampered with, when they could easily send any sealed (or locked) versions to the customer and provide them with the unlock code - not very professional and hard to get onto their warranty team, 8 out of 10 times you try calling they aren't even in their office. Neg this deal.

    • probably to stop re-sellers mate…

    • He, We have been through this before, Unfortuantely all of our customers are not technical minded and therfore providing an unlock code can become quite frustrating for customers. Our repuatation with customers should be enough to give the buyer confidence that the phone is not tampered with. I assure you stock is genuine and 100% brand new. I am terribly sorry you had a warranty issue however these things do happen and this is why the warranty is there for our customers.

      • Sell them both locked/unlocked.

That is an opportunity, not a frustration.

  • i reckon this phone is good if you use it with Telstra Sim, others would have 3G issues

  • Hi uniquemobiles,
Could i get the while one instead of the black please? Thanks.

    • Hi, Sorry we are actually very low on white stock until late next week

  • I got this phone a few months ago at the BigW sale for $199. The price for this was $299 when it first came out (just over a year ago??). Just keep in mind that this model is now replaced by Wildfire S, so hence the recent price drop.

Overall its not bad, it is a little laggy. And unfortunately its one of those phones that you can root (jailbreak)if you are running the latest Android :(

I got one of these (A3335) from Aus Post for $159, currently T has them for $177.

These can run the latest cyanogenmod 7.1 RC (android 2.3.4) just fine.
It can take a little messing around to install it, but definitely worth the effort.

Edit: I assume T is running these out, and will be selling the "Wildfire S".

    • The one from Aus Post for $159 is locked to the carrier.

      Telstra HTC Wildfire

I don't think any android phone remains locked for long. :)

        (installing cyanogenmod unlocks it, btw)

Besides, with the 850 vs 900, the hardware pretty much pre-selects which carrier you will be using.
