Book with us and receive Complimentary Gratuities for Two!

    Are gratuities mandatory on cruises?

  • Flying Sydney-Papeete costs more than the cruise and requires an overnight stopover somewhere.

Might be a good deal for people that are already planning on being on a South Pacific island on the 14th November and don’t yet have a way home.

    • If you're looking for flights, flying with AirNZ can be a good value redemption if you have Kirsflyer points (or Velocity points to be transferred to Krisflyer)

  • Great price until you factor in the one way cost to French Polynesia.

    https://www.momondo.com.au/flight-search/SYD-PPT/2019-11-14

Starting at $627 but that's 26 hours via nz.

    Next cheapest is $1400.

    • The $600+ flights aren't available.

Also, it's risky to leave on 14 NOV from here,
and any delays/cancellations, mean you miss the cruise departure.

      • Gotta be quick or you'll miss the boat

Hmmmm. I do not see the cruise line listed. If that's the case, then this is a deceptive post.

    I imagine this is ncl.

For those talking about airfare, I think the previous cruise from vancouver (to papeete) is about the same price.

I'd this is ncl, when I looked at it yesterday on vacations to go, there was no single supplement.

    • Says on the right pane of the page linked that it's on the Norwegian Jewel

Isn't that kind of a key fact that should be listed on the deal?

Bit like just listing "car", "alcohol", "computer" instead of what the actual model is in any other ad.

Aside from not even mentioning the cruise line and ship, the lead text promotes gratuities included, and the title says a starting price. However, the text says "Not valid on IX,OX,BX & MX " - which is actually the two cheapest categories on their page. They also don't translate so for those unfamiliar it's not obvious to decode, and use inconsistent terms using common language for the bonus, but cruise line cabin grades for the exclusion. The same thing applies to their opening line about choosing a beverage package and other bonuses.

To get the "complementary gratuities" and other bonuses the first available category is from $1839, so 50% more.

Could someone please explain the appeal to me of living on a floating mall for 17 days

  • $100 per person per day is the magic number for me. If it includes drinks and grats its a good deal. If I wasnt working I'd go for it.
