Quality coffee, consistently. That’s our thing.

Rebel Alliance Roasters are a small batch specialty coffee roaster located in Woodcroft (southern suburbs of metro Adelaide).

Our focus is ethical and sustainable sourcing coupled with transparency, we can trace each roasted bean back to the precise farm/co-operative it originated. Furthermore, we try and connect the consumer with the grower as we believe that knowing about the growers stories builds an Alliance that greatly enhances the experience of each cup of caffeinated magic.

Please note that coffee is roasted weekly (usually on Wednesday’s), orders will be shipped within 48 hours of being roasted. Roasted on dates are printed on the bags.

Fun fact: we offer 250g and 1kg capacity bags. These bags are made of LLDPE and can be recycled via Coles or Woolworths soft plastics recycling bins.

If you have any questions, or just want to geek out over all things coffee, then please contact me (Scott - master roaster and business owner) at [email protected]

Thanks OzBargain community, hope that you Join the Alliance!

Still waiting on Rubra coffee to be delivered by camel caravan.

  • Hey Scott, which blend do you recommend for a picolo drinker? I like a good kick at the start with like a mild acidity finish.

Hey ln28909. Can’t go wrong with the Alliance Blend, smooth and full bodied with a very mild acidity. Costa Rica La Cuesta is also a very good contender, definitely hits the ‘strong’ mark.

      Cheers,
      Scott

  • Hi Scott, your bean suggestions for a good flat white, not too strong/bitter with some good sweetness? Cheers.

    • +1

Hi Tex, again the Alliance Blend would be the way to go - it holds up beautifully in milk, is medium bodied (so not overpowering ‘strong’), and generously sweet.

      Cheers,
      Scott

      • Cheers, just ordered.

“Clean and crisp with notes of stewed stone fruits, vanilla, and fruit mince spices. A lively citrus like acidity has this one sparkling on the tongue before settling into long lasting buttery and sweet finish”

Do you have any that taste like coffee?

    • +5

      Actually, no…. :-P

Specialty coffee is much like boutique wine, you get more of these interesting flavour/scent notes and start diverging a fair bit from run-of-the-mill ‘coffee’ flavour.

Ultimately there is always stock standard undertones of ‘coffee’, though some
coffees (like the Brazil Sitio Biquinha Lot 3 - very unique coffee and one of my personal all time favourites) those undertones are far removed.

The intensity scale (Light/Medium/Strong) I have listed for each bean can be a good gauge of more/less standard coffee flavour with Strong being tastes more like ‘coffee’ than the other flavour notes.

      Cheers,
      Scott

  • Cheers Scott for this offer. Just ordered some of the Alliance blend and will see how it goes. Looking forward to tasting it.

      Thanks for the support!

I will fire up the roaster over the weekend and get orders out on Monday.

As an FYI to others, if orders are received by Sunday I can get them sent out on Monday otherwise the next roast date will be Wednesday next week.

      Cheers,
      Scott

  • I'll give it a spin - ordered a batch. How will the discount work on the subscription? 20% off for three months?

    • Hey MrDixit, thanks for the order!

This code excludes the subscriptions, sorry.

Never know, might do a code for subscriptions in the near future ;-)

      Cheers,
      Scott

  • Which bean would you recommend for pour over that's Gesha-like (lighter body, fruity and floral)?

    • +1

Hi ricksterrr, the Colombia Hacienda Casablanca is great as pour over and would meet your profile criteria. Though I also thoroughly recommend the Brazil Sitio Biquinha Lot 3 (not as much on the fruity side but crazy citrus/choc/malt). I personally have also been really enjoying the Guatemala El Boqueron, it is floral with a delicate body and very intriguing aftertaste (think iced tea).

      Cheers,
      Scott
