½ Price Pepe's Duck Frozen No 20 2kg $10.49 @ Woolworths Nationwide

260

I know a few of us love duck, and I'm surprised no one has posted this deal yet.

I was at Woolies Parramatta (in Westfields) and saw a heap of frozen ducks for sale half price.

Not sure if it is nationwide.
I will try elsewhere tomorrow and buy some more.

I know a few of us love duck [flesh from ducks raised in torturous conditions and having their throats slit in their early age], and I'm surprised no one has posted this deal yet.

Dude you always jump to respond to my animal related posts. What happened to you? Did some wild animal eat your kid? Or maybe your mother ran off with some vegan chad and abandoned you? Seriously, what triggers you so much?

        • +2

Pretty rich coming from someone who gets triggered by ice cream.

          • -4

@Some Human: I don't get triggered by ice-cream, I have ethical and political motives - you know, the "vegan agenda." Of course I'm gonna bring it up whenever I can. I relish the opportunities.

But you - what, do you have motives to perpetuate and make light of the needless suffering of billions of animals every year? You are bizzare. Perhaps you should consider researching the psychological phenomenon of overcompensation.

              @fantombloo: Triggered by ice cream.
              Triggered by duck fat.
              Triggered by milk.
              Triggered by veal.
              Triggered by steak.
Triggered by anything that moves…or used to move.

I’m just triggered by people who troll food threads by pretending they care about animals.

How fragile. Throwing in "pretending" must make you feel great. See you soon on a wool or leather or zoo or horse riding thread!

  • Thanks OP. Peking duck for dinner sorted

  • Does anyone how to cook a frozen duck?

    • +4

I usually separate the breasts and the legs from the carcass.
I confit the legs in duck fat, I cook the breasts as I would cook a steak, and I use the carcass to make duck stock
Also render all of the fat and keep it to cook potatoes with

You know how to cook a duck! I think that’s way to advance for me😂

        • +4

It's a lot easier than it sounds.
For years I stayed away from whole ducks because I did not want to separate the legs, breasts, make a stock etc.
And one day, when the ducks were 50% off, I thought phuket! I'm gonna give it a go.
I already have a decent boning knife, and a good butcher's knife, which is a must.
          But it's quite simple

          The last 50% off deal

Our vegan friends will love it

      • {profanity} who got time for that …

    • Uh…best to defrost it first before cooking!. Just joking..lol

Got some at Burwood. Can confirm it is nationwide, however, most suburbs in Sydney do not have any stock. I even weighed them, came up at 2.2kgs so even better :) Feel free to update the post OP.
