    • Just finished an online chat with Hulu, they confirmed that Disney+ bundles are coming on November 15, but would only say that the Hulu/Disney+/ESPN bundle would be available initially for US$12.99 (AU$19.30)/month.

    • +1

      Netflix - $17.99/month (Premium Ultra HD, I have a 4K TV)

Save yourself almost half of that cost by changing your Netflix billing to Argentina - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/414789 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/469062

      Hulu - US$6.76 (AU$10)/month - this is US$5.99/month plus tax

Gotta move your holiday home in the US to a state without sales tax, I hear that Oregon is nice this time of year ;-)

  • +1

Sorry boss not a deal, it’s rrp

  • +1

Not a deal, the free trail period is poor compared to other providers

    • +1

Pretty much my own thoughts. I think I lucked out with a 2-3 month Netflix trial at one point. A week..? yeah, nah.

  • +2

Absolute joke, why couldn’t they have just made changes to their arrangement with Stan and keep most Disney content there… don’t they know nobody is signing up to this?

    • Lol they have more subs in a day then Netflix had in a year.

  • I've never watched those Marvel comic book movies. Worth getting? I've already seen all the Star Wars ones.

  • +1

Not a deal, regular price. It does look more interesting than Netflix and Stan though.

  • +1

Free trial isn't a deal and the monthly is too much for too little.

  • +2

I would rather pay for the one service which gets me ALL the content.

    Sorry Netflix, Disney et al

None of you lot are getting my $$$

  • +3

Ugh. We had it good for a while with streaming. Trust them to stuff it up.

  • Anndddd…. There goes My Netflix account as soon as this comes out. Pushing the price to $20 for eh content has killed it for me.

I'll only return when Stranger Things comes back and then will just be paying a month then out again.

  • For $7.50 a month (as in $90/12) I’ll take it thanks. Save me from having to listen to my kid whinge about wanting to watch all these movies.

  • If I had to choose I would go Disney over all the others this stage. They got all the big ticket movies.

  • +3

And next we will have provider that aggregates half a dozen subscription services into a bundle and you pay them a fee for the bundle.

  • +1

Just an FYI - Disney is releasing all of their programming and TV shows/series on a week-by-week release schedule. So you won't be able to binge watch anything new they offer at all.

  • Sorry Disney you ain't getting me to subscribe to yet another subscription service.

7 days free trial is not a deal neither.

    • +1

Damn, they're going to scrap the whole thing now.

      • +2

        Good !!!

    • Reminds me of Homer at the bar in the Flaming Moe episode.

  • +1

    streaming is just a fad

  • Prime’s hook is the free postage as well as the streaming service. Netflix should partner with eBay.

  • I love my dedicated Plex server more everyday!
Just waiting for Jellyfin to mature before making the jump to open source.

  • +1

I cancelled Netflix, Stan, Hulu , Spotify.

After Netflix was on record saying their competition was pirates and many people stopped pirating they've launched so many retarded services where everyone wants their slice of streaming company pie that I've gone back to piracy full time.

Instead of having one service, signing up to ten different ones makes no sense mentally or financially.

One step forward ten steps back with these old morons in charge of media companies

  • all the negs and they'll still sign up for 1 week. Lol ¯_(ツ)_/¯

  • +3

Disney has become a behemoth with shady business practices that do not benefit us bargain hunters. I'm not that desperate for content and my VPN works fine

  • +1

The best stories in the world.

    Star Wars: The Force Awakens

at least they didn't say TLJ i guess…

    • I can't upvote because it's an old comment, but know that I wanted to. (profanity) TLJ.

      • +1

        '#lukedeservedbetter

  • woah! why so many neg's? :'(

  • 🖥️💿 Back to piracy…

  • I will be cancelling netflix and signing up. The kids have watched what they want to a million times on Netflix and so have I. Nothing new on Netflix that interests me. Happy to pay for Amazon Prime (mostly for free shipping but the tv is a nice bonus) and Disney for the foreseeable future.

    • +2

If you haven’t watched “Good Omens” on prime check it out. We’re with you in that we use it for the shipping but there are some things worth seeing.

      • Will do, seen the ads but haven't given it a go yet

        • +2

I suggest reading the book, as well. Terry Pritchett is brilliant.

  • Can i pay this through appstore or google play?

    • +1

Yes you can. It seems to have launched a few hours early. I just installed the app on my android phone and signed up using google play credit (from surveys).

  • Anyone having issue subscribing through the app on an iOS. Mine says problem with payment

    • +2

no issues with mine. signed up via the app and subscribed to their yearly plan (renews the 25th). just gotta get that 20% off iTunes gift card first.

edit: to clarify, i signed up for the free trial first, and my payment for the yearly plan would be the 25th i assume. maybe i'll see some issues then.

    • Same problem here. Error processing payment.

      • I hard reset my iOS device and it worked.

  • Shame we were not offered an early discount like the US.

    • yeah the d23 discount is amazing. pity we don't get it. as i understand, it's only the US that has got it so far? none of the other countries where + has been released have got that discount as well?

  • -2

Only 7 days not good enough. at least 30 days like every other streaming service

  • Waiting to see if the rumoured Stan/Disney+ bundle turns out to be true.

If so, that'll get my money. Otherwise, I guess Disney+ will just join Netflix and Stan on the carousel of services I rotate through depending on what's just come out.

  • -3

where does everyone get time to watch stan/netflix disney go to work keep a house clean.and sleep

    • Well I start work at 7, get home at 3:30, don't have a mess because I've been out all day, and then will throw this shit on in the background with the missus and have a lovely nap later on, somewhere in the middle I'm also likely to cook and eat some food.

      Not rocket surgery.

I did this one this morning to see if Simpsons was actually on there here.

It is. Buuuut, it's only season 1-29, meaning season 30, that didn't air on Foxtel in the year I had it from that JB deal, and the currently airing in America season 31, are missing, ie, the only two seasons I've not seen, which is a bummer.

But um. I spent all this time saying I didn't care about the cropping, and I mean, I sort of don't, but it's pretty trash. The old episodes already look pretty dodgy on modern bigger teles but making the picture zoomed in is even worse, and somehow, despite not being stretched, it has that look of when I'd watch the DVDs on a 16:9 on a DVD player that was old and stupid and just stretched the picture. It looks janky tbh.

Howeveeeeeer… 29 seasons of Simpsons, no DVD or piracy via HDD necessary, you bet your sweet ass I bought a year of it the second I saw the show was in fact gonna be available here.

    • For The Simpsons, I believe they’ve altered the video quality to be worse off. Not sure now, but I hope it’s not the case.

      • They've cut the aspect ratio to be widescreen. Some of the visual jokes are impacted. One example I saw was the three types of Duff beer all came from the same pipe.

        • wow thats shit then, can people not deal with black borders?

      • The same 16:9 zoom copies supplied by fox that currently air on channel 7 and most syndication in the world.

Disney already responded they will make the 4:3 versions available and people will have the choice of which aspect ratio to watch.

        • My house is terrible for free to air signals, only watched via broadcast on Fox 8, which had the proper borders in place, Channel Ten did as well until they lost the show a couple years back. Seems weird to reissue the show across the world in an objectively inferior form. Stretch the image for all I care, they're zoomed in that much everyone looks twice their normal size anyway, I may as well at least see all the show.

It's such a bummer too because when my Foxtel ended in September and I had to bum the girlfriend's Netflix to throw South Park on as my replacement background cartoon, when I saw those old episodes in widescreen HD looking amazing, and had to look it up, and found out they straight remade a bunch of earlier episodes in HD using their new animation program and shit, like, that was so damn cool and I wasn't expecting it and it was just great. Once again, South Park improves on Simpsons*.

*I love them both equally, don't fight me.

      • I've watched the first half a dozen or so eps of season 6 in the background so far and I mean, it's definitely no better than the tele reruns, I haven't had season 6 on DVD since like 2010 though so memory is a bit fuzzy, but I don't recall it looking any better on disc.

I'd say they're more or less the same, just zoomed in. Which is admittedly pretty trashy, but not a deal breaker, obviously. But quite the bummer.

    Funk Disney

  • I registered, downloaded the app, says it's not available in my region. Good work Disney.

  • Disney quickly becoming a powerhouse in everything and monopolising the world, yet I’m shamelessly here for it.

    • +1

I'm gonna die sometime this century. Disney will not. May as well back the winning horse.

Since when were free trials a bargain?

    • +1

I think this is a public service announcement (aka "advertisement")

      • +1

Free advertisement. Disney and other corporations must be pleased ozbargainers who post their services without having to do any advertising

  • Be great if they bring the 3yr deal for Disney 23 members to Australia too.

    • why would you even get downvoted for this. upvoted you to even it out.

ps: would love for that to come here too.

  • I have a two year old kogan smart TV series 8 KU8000, guess it's android 5.1.1

  • +4

Why is this trash deal back in the front page?

  • There was an issue that disney+ logins being resold by hackers. Is it still relevant?

    • Apparently They were just part of previously compromised username/password combos that still work on Disney because affected people didn't change their passwords. So not necessarily Disney being hacked already.

    • Only if you use an insecure password.

Here we go, let's binge on sexist and racist Disney movies! Thank you =)

  • Whats good with their services? Old movies and what?
Unless they stop release the movie in theater, that could big difference

  • With all these subscription services, pirating content has never been easier.

    Thanks Netflix, Amazon, Disney, Stan!

  • +1

7 days free trial is not a deal

  • +1

    No deal

  • Hoping for a halfway decent deal on the annual sub. $90 is pretty good as it is, but it's no $50 or some such, heh.

    • Best you can get is $72 for the yearly sub through iTunes discounted gift cards.

  • +4

Why do people get so wound up about things? If you don't like it, don't sign up. It's not difficult.

    • Free advertisement for Disney

  • +1

    Free trial isn't a deal

    Disney. The pedophile support network.

  • -1

hell yea, i really want to pay for low quality bitrate and content ill flick through and only find 1 or 2 movies to watch out of 100s. no thanks, (profanity) streaming services. spotify has low quality audio, netflix has a terrible selection, stan isnt even worth mentioning, disney+ is gonna be huge garbage.

  • wait till all the mandalorian episodes come out then binge watch it all :D

  • Will we be getting the same catalog as the US?

  • Lol! It’s not a bargain mate!!!!

  • Excellent choice if you like supporting monopolies

    • You just watch free to air?

      • -1

        Nah, I torrent.

  • Disney Plus keeps giving errors on my Ipad, asking me try again later for the last few hours.

Diney Plus works on TV okay.

I wish Disney could release Disney Plus App on Australian LG TVs like they do in the US.

I am not subscribing until app is release on WebOS TV.

    • I downloaded the app on my LG WebOS this morning…

You give people options they complain you don’t give people options they complain. Moral of the story. Rent VHS.

  • Not a deal.

Ah piracy, my old friend welcome back

  • Not buying this until "Disney and Chill" becomes a thing!

In-fact just to protest on an individual scale, I'm going to cancel my other subscriptions as well.

"You think piracy is your ally. But you merely adopted the piracy; I was born in it, molded by it. I didn't see subscriptions until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but BLINDING!"
    ~Bane The Pirate

    • Won't ever become a thing. They don't have sex or any mature contents. Kids stuff only.
