  • Wait this is semi synthetic. How do I undo my positive vote?

    • Click on "votes" under the deal title, click revoke.

  • wow thats cheap, im picking up 2 tomorrow for sure

  • I have always used full synthetic and changed it on or before 10K km, how long this will be good before a change ?

    • +2

just as long or even longer but probs less efficient

    • Depends on your engine and the type of driving you do. If stop start/city frequent driving, I'd change after 5,000km.

    • Agreed with fedaykin. The right answer will depend on the kind of driving you do. But do not run it for longer than what's recommended in your car owner's manual (even if it's fully synthetic).

      Should be fine for 10k/km

    • Read the log book. Maybe consider changing it more often than that if you plan keep it for a long time.

    • Thank you guys, read the log book of my Ford focus it says specification M2C913-B, which translates to full synthetic products from various manufactures, will stick with full synthetic then.

  • any deals on full synthetic?

  • +1

Silly question but could this be used on a 4 stroke lawn mower

    • Depends, what oil does the manufacturer recommended?

    • +1

If your mower needs sae30 then yeah this is fine

    • I use same spec on mine.

Just a silly question here, is running on 98 much better than 95?

    • It depends on your car, check the owners manual for octane requirements.
If there aren’t any run a few tanks of 98 and record the mileage, then do the same for 95 and see which costs less per 100km. 91 might even be the most efficient if there are no octane requirements.

There's no way anyone is paying $43 RRP for this oil. You can get full synthetic every day of the week ending in 'y' for less than that. It's a cheap deal for semi, but if you want to hang out for full synthetic it's gone as cheap as $20, which is well worth the extra $5.

    • May I ask who's selling full synthetic 5w-30 oil for $20?

      • I bought 4 bottles of Penrite 5w-30 Full Synthetic (6 Litres) for $24ea at SCA, so I wouldn't be surprised there's others that have gone down to 20.

      • I last stocked up from Autobarn about 6 months ago max? I still have 2 bottles (Gulf Western), prior I picked up some Shell helix 5w30 full synth for the same price or maybe 2 bucks more from SCA

That's ages ago. These days it's rare to pick up fully synthetic for $30 or less.

Needless to say fully synthetic doesn't mean it meets the requirements your car's manufacturer specifies.

I found it hard to find stuff with Ford specs which this exceeds.

      • wells.. i wouldn't use the word "everyday". I would suggest to keep an lookout on OzB and someone will definitely post when a full synthetic oil goes on sale. there are massive hoarders of cheap full synthetic oils here.
the major holidays are coming — Black friday (not a public hols tho), Xmas, NY… SCA seems to have their 30% storewide on Boxing day..
