Anyone know if the Endeavour Hills store or Chadstone store would stock these?
I wonder if Aldi price matches its different stores?? This line of furniture is fairly decent quality, and I've been eyeing these off for a while, waiting for them to come down in price.
I heard of a particular item that had been reduced in one store and went along to another, hoping to find it. It was still full price on the shelf, so I asked about it. Apparently all the stores mark down according to their manager's discretion - so if it's marked down in one store, it may be marked down in another one (as they are trying to clear it), but not necessarily the same amount.
For the record I mentioned the price that my friend had bought the item I was interested in for, and they checked with the manager who let me have it for the same price anyway.
I bought a chest of drawers for $99 from Aldi which were far from being good quality. The white paint had a really strong odour and stained my carpet white. The wood was cheap chipboard which flaked as soon as you put one of the screws anywhere near it which made the drawer sliders loose. As a result the drawers did not open/close smoothly. It went out on the verge for the last hard rubbish collection.
Now that you mention it, I do remember the paint being rather pongy - we had to put it in an unused room for a couple of weeks to degas.
aldi has a pretty good (in my experience) no fuss returns policy. why didn't you just take it back?
just assembled mine and very happy with that.no parts were missing or misalignment holes and very clear manual.please note that for assembly do not use power tool just a screwdriver will do the job.money well spent on this one.the product initially have a slight odour upon opening the carton like all flat pack furniture products.this is normal and relates to manufacturing processes.i did not notice any smell once assembled.if you not happy you can always return and get refund from Aldi with no question asked.nothing to lose.
Good buy indeed. =)But I often buy my furniture at ikea. =D
