  • U3 speed , nice for those dslr cameras that want the write speed.

    • But this deal is for the 64's

  • +1

Thanks. Got one 2 years ago for 35 dollars. 10 bucks is a steal. They're excellent with the short adaptor.

    • Will these memory cards come with a included Lexar micro to sd card adapter?

If so how is it shorter than standard?

      • +2

I think shiny1 is referring to the microsd to USB adapter. I got one included when I bought a Lexar microsd card previously.

        • Lexar make two different types sometimes included with their micro sd memory cards.

One is same as in this listing, like a regular micro sd to sd memory card adapter, the second that is sometimes packaged together is a small micro sd USB 3 card reader, very different.

@ozhunter68: Can confirm the one in this deal does not come with the USB adapter unfortunately.

            • @PorkHunt: Thanks. Thought so much, that often is bit more expensive.

You must have got yours in the mail already.

  • Can you use eBay gift cards over multiple transactions?

For instance, if you had a $20 eBay e-gift card, and bought a a $13.29 USB stick, can you use the remaining $6.71 for another transaction later on? Or alternatively, do you forfeit the remaining value of the original e-gift card?

    Thanks

    • +2

The balance stays in your eBay account so you can use it for future purchases.

      • thanks :)

    • +1

You can use the remaining credit for other transactions but I don't think you can use it again on the same day, have to wait for the next day. I could be wrong.

      • thanks :)

Currently using SanDisk Extreme 32GB USB drive, amazingly fast read and write speed, but it's weak plastic hinge has broken after several years of usage. Looking at these Ultra Fit 3.1 drives, they have very good read speed but their write speed is terribly slow. Will keeping looking for good deal on Extreme drives.

    • My Extreme 3.0 USB is still going strong after years

      • Mine too although I have the exact same issue as @edfoo with the plastic hinge. I now use Samsung T5 for large transfers and bought this one just for the portability.

    • +2

The latest Ultra Fit drives run really hot. Like untouchably hot.

I have to unplug mine when not in use, so I don’t burn myself. Which defeats the purpose of such a small USB.

The Sandisk forums are full of similar complaints.

For Lexar MicroSDXC 633x 64GB, will it be affecting write speed if using the regular sd adapter? Camera takes regular sd size instead of micro. Price seems good for U3 though.

    • +3

The adapter does not affect the speed of the micro sd card.

      • +1

Ah what i meant, i read somewhere "extra connection" can slow down the writing speed to the card. Thanks for reply.

        • +3

You might be thinking about UHS-II cards. These are UHS-I cards (so they don't have those extra pins).

  • How is the quality of the Lexar micro sd?
Past comment mentioned the company was sold off

Works great mate , i have a 256GB and no issue at all.

Write speed is a bit less than Samsung Evo/Sandisk Ultra but quality wise is good.

      • Any word on read speeds? I'm planning to get one for a laptop and of course they won't be as good as an NVME SSD but would they at least be better than flash storage?

        • My lexar 633x 256GB mate is : 95MB read and 45MB write

          • @SamyKn: Cheers, is that sequential or random?

            • @JuiceT: Theoretical max Sequential mate , i have not seen anywhere they publish random read/write speed (unless i missed it)

              • @SamyKn: Ah okay, should be good enough anyway, thanks for the replies!

      • Thanks SamyKn

    • As a photographer and someone who spent 5+ years working in a camera store, I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy Lexar who puts value in their data. Although we didn't sell Lexar, the number of corrupt cards that customers brought in looking to recover files was 20:1 against San Disk. Unless things have changed, genuine San Disk cards are the only ones I would recommend (Ultra & above)

Thanks! Bought one and got the bill from OZB Enterprise.

    • I noticed that too

Don't really trust Lexar after I had a 128gb micro sd die in my phone.

I know every manufacturer has duds but that just put me off this brand.

  • Just wondering if this micro sd good for Nintendo switch? Thanks

    • +3

I bought it for mine. I trust the lexar 633 series cards, since they're what gopro recommended a while back.

      • thanks, snapped one for 9.99 :)

You didn't use the coupon? Please hand in your OZB badge.

  • Can I use it for a dashcam?

    • Yes you can

For those considering the above Sandisk USB, save yourself the frustration and go fo a Sandisk Extreme Go. Yes, it’s pricier…but if u r gonna use it as a daily, the amount of time saved is more than enough to cover the price difference. In fact, Amazon’s 128GB Sandisk Exteme Pro is $40 (don’t forget the 4.5% ShopBack cashback) and the 64GB version on eBay is $28.09 (don’t forget the 1.0% ShopBack cashback).

Having said this, if you are only going to fill it up with kids tv shows and leave it in your TV/media hub’s USB slot for weeks on end, then the $13.29 deal here is good. If you are chasing a 128GB version, as someone above has already mentioned, Amazon is cheaper.

As for the Lexar - sounds like a good deal. Earlier in July, Kogan was selling the equivalent in Kingston brand for $9 delivered. I managed to pick up a couple. I guess this deal is the next best deal at the moment.

    • +1

That one is too big (physically). The appeal of this deal is the stumpy design.

      • +2

But it’s untouchably hot when plugged in. I bought one for my Chromebook and literally burnt myself on it several times. I consulted the Sandisk forums and found a pile of similar complaints.

So I’ve gone back to my old previous-gen Ultra Fit, which runs cool and doesn’t cause physical injury.

        • I'll be sure not to touch the back of my wii, thanks for the info.

          • +1

@idonotknowwhy: For that use case, it’s fine. Just make sure you don’t have any cables resting against it.

    • The biggest issue with Sandisk Extreme Go is that it is designed for better sequential read/write, but the 4K random read/write suffers. Honestly, that is kind of cheating. It is a bit un-Sandisk like. However, I can understand why Sandisk would do that - to compete as most of the cheapo brands (they heavily optimise for sequential).

So, if all you care about is movie files and you need USB flash disk, then I guess it is fine. However, it doesn't feel that Extreme. Another thing is that at that price/GB is inferior than low end SSDs which beats Extreme Go easily.

      • Not entirely true. My current Extreme USB 3.0 32GB USB drive kicks the arses of of my other USB2 drives and microSD cards in term of random 4K write speed. Using the CrystalDiskMark benchmark program, it is showing random 4K write speed around 10MB/s. My various USB2 flash drives vary from 0.2-0.5MB/s. Samsung EVO and EVO+ microSD 1.5-2.0MB/s. SanDisk Ultra microSD 1.5MB/s. The only drive that has random 4K write speed that seriously trounces the Extreme flash drive is my Samsung EVO 850 SSD at >100MB/s.

        • +1
          1. Comparing USB 3 vs USB 2 flash drive isn't really a fair comparison. USB 2 ones are dirt cheap.
          2. This product has Extreme as part of its name. Is your current Extreme USB "just" Extreme or Extreme Go? My point is that Extreme Go is not as good as Extreme in 4K random read/write QD1.
          3. Samsung EVO 850 SSD at >100MB/s - that is high queue depth 4K random read/write (not 4K QD1). That's not the 4K random read/write we really look at, not for flash disk anyway. Cheap SSDs can beat Extreme Go easily anyway.

Based on the benchmark results I saw, Extreme Go is simply not in the same class as Extreme in 4K random read/write QD1.

          • @netsurfer: I know USB3 is faster, but some USB3 flash drives still have very slow random 4K write speed, such has the SanDisk Ultra range.
Yes mine is the old Extreme flash drive. Do you mean Extreme Go is the newer model with slower random 4K write speed compared to my Extreme?
That SSD benchmark is just for an interesting comparison. Not a direct apple to apple comparison.

            • @edfoo: Extreme - all good, if you need performance and the form factor (and money is no issue), the one to get.

Extreme Go - good on paper, but not really 'true' Extreme, hence the Go. It has stellar sequential read/write. Random read/write beats Ultra a bit, but nowhere close to Extreme. There's a big gap between Go and true Extreme… hence I feel there is a bit of cheating there.

Basically, I was wondering why Extreme Go is cheaper than Extreme offerings… so did a bit of research. Extreme Go is really Extreme Lite (but Go sounds better than Lite).

Got one of the Sandisk Ultra Fit USBs for the car stereo a year or so back after the previous memory stick got bumped several times and died. The low profile is excellent for that job, and speed is not so urgent except when copying songs onto the stick, which is only every now and then.

Does this work on LG -V30+ phone…?

  • Last time I heard about the FIT was the overheat problem.
