AFAIK CyberPower / Bosston / etc are all the same junk. I had a Bosston, opened it up, then ceased using it immediately after what I saw.
I wouldn't dare use one of these for fear of fire hazards. I wouldn't trust it not to fry whatever was connected by USB.
Now look, I could be wrong, this was a long time ago. These things sell like hotcakes here, so how about an ozbargainer open one up and post some pics?

Had no issues with mine. Of course if you're connecting a $4000 TV or computer then its up to you if you wanna skimp on a surge protector. They get the job done for me though, the quality seems no different than any other sub $70 surge protector.

Yes you probably do need to either get a regular, name brand power board or spend more on a good surge protector.
