Telstra $65 Per Month for 12 Months - 60GB Data, Unl Talk/Text + $500 off Any iPhone @ JB Hi-Fi (in-Store Only)

660

$500 Can be taken off any iphone model, may work out alright if you find a discounted deal elsewhere & get JB to price match, otherwise not much of a deal see breakdown:

Consider this before signing up:

Assuming your already on a $40pm sim = $480 per year + wanted to buy iPhone 11 Pro 256gb $1999 = $2479

Compare to signing up to JB Deal:

12m sim $780 + $1499 for iPhone 11 pro (after $500 discount) = $2279

Only saving $200 signing up to this deal, unless you can find a good discount on a iphone for JB to price match this deal is pretty average, especially if your on a cheaper sim plan likely saving nothing, but will work out much cheaper than any 24m contract

Has anyone has any luck changing to the JB $45 deal. One person on Live Chat said I could do it after my service was activated, but another two said I have to go into a Telstra Store to do it. I haven’t tried going into the store yet.

          • @Hargain Bunter: Did you end up having any luck changing to the $45 plan?

            • @aussie222: Yep I did, but got a bit of a run around.

Initially live chat said they could do it after I was ported, then after I was ported they told me they couldn’t but I could do it in a Telstra store and they would also apply a $10 port in discount. Went into Telstra and they told me to go to JB. JB did it for me but when they called Telstra to apply the change they said I couldn’t get the $10 discount.

So long story, short JB can switch you over to the $45 50GB plan but seems like there is no extra $10 discount available.

              • @Hargain Bunter: Update: I hit up live chat again after in store said they couldn’t do the port in discount and they gave me a 6 month $10 discount.

  • Has anyone ported from another provider and not had a delay?

    • I had about two days delay changing to Optus and then two days back to Telstra. Had to get another new SIM (a third Telstra SIM) for the Telstra change back because of issues.

This offer has been extended to Wednesday the 16th.

    • thanks updated

  • Is Vodafone prepaid $15 the best prepaid option to port out? Online overnight delivery but I’m in no rush.

    • I bought a $2 SIM from Optus but the porting took a few days in both directions.

  • Thanks for the post; I ported out to Optus in a minute, walked into JB a few hours later. The $500 gift card was no longer available even though I showed them so I just took the $400 which is what is now being advertised on the website. Still happy with the deal overall.

    • $500 off an iPhone/$400 gift card

  • Crossing my fingers to see another date extension on this.
Went in today to get an xr 128gb and this phone plan, but all they had in stock were 64gb. :(
