Great deal for those in Brisvegas!

    • +3

Believe me, there is nothing Vegas like about Brisbane.

And I live here. And have been to Vegas.

I'd rather live here. And party in Vegas.

        • My brother Just bought a 3 br home with pool in Las Vegas 33K

          wow that's awesome!!!

          if only brisbane adopted this!

        • +1

Wha..? $33,000 for the place? That's the cost of the average car here.

          That's insane.

        • +2

Yeah, and in Vegas you'll find motel rooms for $29 per night with 60+ channels of cable TV plus HBO, not like here AU where you pay $80 on a "bargain" motel and you get 5 grainy FTA analog channels.

  • Bargain!

  • +1

I wish there was a cheaper shipping option; would buy a couple of these in a flash.
Any possibility of a better postage option OP? What about those express post satchels? They are half the price and trackable.

    • +1

Its a good point, and we are considering it.

To date, we tend to chase more substantial $ orders for anything shipping but given the popularity of low $ one off deals at the moment, well, will see how it goes. For now, the $15 minimum courier only freight applies. Sorry.

FYI, we are testing a new and much improved web site, and when that goes live it will be easier to offer one off coupon codes, perhaps discounted or free freight on specific orders. Will see what we can do once thats live.

        Do it!
Yes totally, if you do free shipping I'll buy 3 right now. How about something along the lines of a minimum spend for free shipping? $50? $80?

        • +1

          Lol negged? k.

I actually need these, been waiting for some lower capacity drive at a good price for ages.

      • yes, offer free shipping if you buy multiple items as an option
ie $29 + shipping for one
$90 inlc shipping if you buy three

  • Might head over there after work today, any word on stock?

    • +2

Some hundreds still in stock, should last a week or 2 and might get more stock in when we run low. Fine if you are in today, open till 3PM, 9-6PM weekdays.

Good deal shame its only restricted to to Brisbane should lower shipping price to make it more tempting

  • It's a good deal guys, I picked up one of these drives myself about a week or so ago, works well.

  • hey rep, any chance of doing a good deal on teh billion 7800n or 7800nl? a lot of people here and whirlpool will buy!

    • Nope, sorry, not a brand we are doing in volume at the moment (though I do like the price/quality of Billion)

  • Nice price!

  • +1

Great price, just tried ringing the store to check on stock as I don't want to drive there if no stock is available. Waited on hold for about 7 minutes then was disconnected. I'm not that desperate to save a few bucks on another drive. Thumbs up for the price, thumbs down for the service, so no vote from me.

    • My apologies for that. Thats rather unusual.

First of all, we do have stock, and secondly, no one should (or is) normally left on hold for a more than a few minutes. Reception should have taken a message if they could not find a salesman quickly.

      • +1

Thanks for the reply, no reception was involved at all as it was all automated.

    I remember in 2006 when i got a 4gb sony usb for 29 now u can get 320gb for 29

    • A 4gb flash drive?

A 4gb flash drive for $29 would have been a great deal back in 2006.

      • I remember in 2002, 32MB was considered huge for a USB flash drive.

        • My first usb drive was a 256mb RamBo from ebay, for about $35. That was back in 2003 i believe, and other students in my class were getting 64mb drives for close to $50.

  • link to Other external drives available, see site eg 2TB 3.5" external $79?

  • Good deal…sadly, the limit of 1 per customer means you can't even combine shipping with your mates!

The 2TB Iomega 3.5" external is also a great deal:

    http://www.computeralliance.com.au/parts.aspx?qryPart=12817

    • Too right!

Because of the one per customer limit, there is no way to get any value by buying a few (I want 3) with the $15 courier costs. It makes one unit $44 which is no bargain…

  • nice deal, might pick up one of your SD cards that you have going cheep to

  • +1

    Put POSTAGE in title…

    • +2

The title says Brisbane, and the description specifically mentions that the deal is intended for customers who can visit their store. Yes, they can ship to other states, but that's not the main deal being offered, so mentioning the postage in the description seems fine to me.

      • -1

It should then say "pickup" in the title.

    • you might as well ask him/her to put the entire deets in the title

  • I think People on Ozbargain are either LOADED WITH CASH or POOR BUGGERS……
I belong to the later….want to buy every good decent deal, but cant afford to just do it.

Guess it's a double pleasure for those who are loaded.
Awesome deal…..but I guess I'll stick to the 3.5" I bought from there last time!

    • Just haveta wait for the Carbon Tax compo measures to kick in! ;-)

      • Hi Todger, just wondering what the deal is with the pic beside your name? Who are those people in the photo?

  • Will this work for Mac 10.4 and Win Xp at the same time?

    • Yes - just format the drive as FAT32

but note that file system has a 4GB file size limitation

      • or grab yourself a copy of macdrive for windows its $50 but well worth it if you use files bigger than 4gb

  • anyone find a NSW retailer who will price match this?

  • Good to see a rep post a genuine bargain with lots of stock. Shame I'm in NSW.

  • awesome prices for the 2.5 320gb and 3.5 2tb

  • +2

went today. heaps of stock left. Good to see what they saved in customer service training is passed onto savings for their customers.

  • any other retailers offer similar prices ?
i'd be interested in getting 3-4 as gifts

  • If u missed this u can buy samsung 640GB for $58 at bigw.
