  • The Bowers & Wilkins PX are about the same price.
    Which has better SQ?

    • I tried the PX for a few days and I personally disliked the signature entirely. I'm not sure what music it would be ideal for, but it lacked the treble tsss and vocal sharpness I would expect at the price range. I haven't tried the p7. I would strongly suggest you try on store as sound signature is highly personal.

    • Since the B&W PX is an ANC headphone. I would expect the P7 to have better sound quality.
Also, the B&W PX is a more recent release with USB-C, the ability to listen to digital audio through the USB connection using the built-in DAC & the ability to charge while listening when using this method.

The P7 uses micro-USB connection and is lacking the features mentioned above (the only way to charge while listening on the P7 is to listen using the 3.5mm cable connection, and charge using micro-USB).

      • if you can disable NC, then that removes any bias NC gives to sound, and a fairer comparison can be made. I liked the P7's soundstage, but I'd like to try these.

        • +1

          Yes it is possible.
But tuning (sound) could be different, so best to try both out (with the settings you designate) to see if you can hear any differences.

    • Have the P7 have listened to the PX, the P7 sounds alot better, better bass, sound stage, better performance in every aspect of sound. The downside is, the hinge isn't the strongest design, I broke mine, BW was very very good with sending a replacement and Bluetooth does not Auto connect to newer phones iphone 8 and up use a new version of Bluetooth. So you have to manually connect the headphone everytime you turn it on.

The PX has better hinge and feels heavier and more solid, the earpads are not leather and is better for smaller ears. Bluetooth connects automatically but doesnt sound as good as P7.

I'm using the Sony WH1000XM3, the hinge broke, Sony send a replacement very quickly. Sound is as good as the P7 connects straight away, but build quality is not as good.

      Hope this helps

      • So you have to manually connect the headphone everytime you turn it on.

        That’s annoying, I thought Bluetooth was backwards-compatible.
Try deleting all your remembered BT devices in the settings on your phone, and pairing the P7’s again.

Regarding sound, I have also heard the P7’s sound best when used wired (which defeats the purpose of wireless I know but it seems to be the case with the P7).

  • Someone at work bought the Master Dynamic mh60! Never heard it before, and it's my new love. I will never justify the money, but man it was perfect, if I could get that sound for cheaper, even wired,I would be set.

    • Just discovered the B&W PX7 a new model on its way.

      • That could be interesting!

        • Just as a way to reduce hype to a realistic amount:
The product name must be PX + P7 = PX7.
So basically expect PX ANC with P7 audio quality.

          • @thebadmachine: Hahaha. Man I'm already putting dollars away aiming for the master dynamics.

      • Drat. Now I need to decide on these, or the new Momentums…. shame the Sennys have rubbish battery life.

        • I really didn't like the senny M3. Have a look at the vmoda Crossfade 2 at Myer, cheaper and much better.
