I had the p5 headphones and they were fantastic. They broke after 2 years and the warranty service for b&W Australia is handled by convoy international in Sydney. I had to email b&W UK to even get a reply for my warranty submission.

I stupidly bought another pair when the p5 series one were going on clearance. They died after 12 months and once again the warranty claim was painful experience.

B&W make great stuff but charge a premium price. In my experience the reliably just isn't there and the after sales service is worse. I expect better from a premium brand.

    • Thanks for the good honest reply.

I found this with my B+W c5's . They died within warranty and JB hifi where I purchased them had stopped stocking replacements.
In my claim, I got a pair of C3's and never opened them.

Off the brand from now on. Especially the larger sets where I heard the adhesive doesn't hold for extended use

    • Three died during warranty is not "making great stuff". My pair of Sennheiser from 20 years ago and used daily are still working fine. Only needed a headband cushion replacement after 15 years.

Be warned buying without trying, they wont refund if not suitable.

Thanks for this although we do accept returns but with a restocking fee, if you have opened and used the product.

We do have them on demo in store for you to try however!

      • Well i was flat out refused when tried a return via ebay purchase, so no you don't. But keep posting your deals and i will keep telling people my experience.

    • There are some headphone stores around, they are just well hidden.
Something like the B&W’s would also likely be stocked at more common HiFi/electronic stores.
So yes give them a try before you buy sounds like a good idea, if you are unable to do thorough research and read reviews online. (Having a reference set of headphones also helps)

    Sony is better

Please be a little more specific. If you are referring to the XM3’s, these B&W P7 are ‘Bluetooth headphones’ and are therefore for a slightly different market to ‘Noise Cancelling’ Headphones.

I would use them wired, and have the option/convenience of Bluetooth when it’s needed.

$20 Cheaper here without the title''Ozbargain Special''

Took me less than 10 seconds to find a better deal ;)

Something is definitely wrong with Ozbargain's voting system. People just upvoted it for nothing.

This Ozbargain only deal won't last as we only have one shipment available :)

At this price, its going to take you months or years to clear that shipment ;)

    • +1

Yeah they have been going up & down for around this price ($350-$400) for awhile now.
      Similar story with the PX.

    • For a wired headphone? :)

      • Yes it is obvious Apollo seem to have inaccurate product description.
Who knows maybe their representatives actually do think it is a wired only headphone.

    • OP is selling the P7 Wireless, not the original wired version that's been out for a few years now that is linked in the comment I'm replying to, just to clear up any confusion.

You can tell by the weight of the product description (290g vs around 310g)

Best to try it out, just like any other headphone, to hear if it's the right one for you :)

      • Oh i see. Since it is discontinued on B&W website (found link only through google search).
I thought there was only one P7 model.

Also worth noting the headband clamping force is quite strong on these headphones (if you have a large/wide head you will be experiencing pressure on the lower jaw area which can get quite sore in a short amount of time.
Of course there is the opinion that they will break-in and loosen, but this pressure seems to be a common experience.
(If you are a headphone person you will probably keep them open on a foam block)
Also the ear-cups can be on the tighter side (for larger ears).

Other than that the sound quality will be to a high-standard, and if you have a head on the small/narrow side you should be ok with comfort.

It was $349 for weeks at Apollo hifi.
Just a suggestion for anyone interested (kinda audiophile with 10+ headphones)

For the quoted price, you can spend less on a Bose or Momentum 2.0 wireless they sound better than this and cheaper.

I have PX, owned P7 , won't bother with B&W quality and nothing special in these…

They used to be special 5 years back, things have evolved & have much better offerings, not these.

    • You must be the person who suggested PX’s on my KEF headphone deal.
It’s a shame B&W sound quality is under-whelming. I would have expected something ‘special’ for this price (RRP) and I expect P7 to sound better than PX.
Maybe you just prefer a flatter sound-signature (Bose/Sennheiser).
I prefer flat sounding speakers, but I like my headphones to have a bit of character (owner of B&O 1st gen H6).

      • Nope. Not at this price.

They are good at sub $300 ($200-$250)

PX though are NC and much well built & presented. And with better soundstage….But not even PX at the price B&W ask.
I bought B&W PX for $350, which is around same as QC35…that's ok

        • If you are a headphone guy, Koss has new electrostatic cans for $499 (US I think).
Going with Koss is a bit of a stretch, but I wonder how they sound for entry into electrostatics.

          • @thebadmachine: too much of QC issues in this particular model.
Will wait until they can get it right.
BTW if eager to spend $1000-2000 on headphones, nothing beats Focal Clear.
They have captured that topspot (I know its subjective) but to me Focal Clear is endgame.

I tried those at a sydney store and was f****** amazed …

            • @Jabberwocky: Ahh the $1000+ range.
I’m just a regular headphone user, will never consider that much money for headphones. You gotta be a real careful person up there, speakers are bit harder to break.

  • I know I'm comparing earphones to headphones here, but I have the Sennheiser Momentum True Wireless earphones and wish they were a bit louder. I'm wondering if these would be louder/better quality?
