Oh I can imagine this going well. You might want to state how many you have got in stock first. People don't take too kindly to very limited quantity deals when they miss out.

Ebay anniversary all over again, tho in RL =/

This is just like the cold brew kit that was posted from DJs site for $5 a couple of months ago. The cold brew kit includes a cover without the plunger. Not sure if this one does or not.

for $4 or $5 is good value if you were after a plunger.

    • Was going to say you could cold brew this as well

  • Is this double walled?

    • No.

Good price but I wish these guys would not advertise on the Alan Jones show on AM radio….

    • +1

      Thanks for the heads up.

    • What did he say? I'm not up to date.

    • -1

How would you know if you're not still listening to the Alan Jones show?

      • -3

What sort of logic is that? How would i know if Peter's of Kensington are advertising? Who says don't listen? I listened for a good 30minutes Wednesday morning while driving someone else's car who listens to the show. I chose to leave it on the station to identify the idiotic advertisers still wanting to associate themselves with Alan Jones. Unfortunately these guys stood out well above the rest as biggest supporters of the show for the 30minutes i was listening.

This deal has a product at great price but personally I would not buy anything from this shop anymore.

  • No online purchases?? eBay?

        How many in stock?

        • many

        • +21

The rep is avoiding answering stock details. So dont waste youe time. Probably 1 in stock.

      • hey rep dude love your work but if it's in store only say it up front in the title no deal for most of oz

It’s a loss leader. They’re not only not making any money on this - they are loosing money. But getting you into the store (and that’s the whole point of the bargain) it may lead to other purchases. Because “why would you shop anywhere else”? 😁

    • +3

      they are loosing money

maybe they should tighten their belts?

      • -2

        How does that help?

  • Can I use it for tea?

    • +3

      Yes

    • +1

      Yes, and soup

  • Brrrrrrroooooddddddddeeeeeeennnnnnnnn time

  • +2

not a fan of the plastic - even though its BPA free…

    • +1

I expect the vessel to be glass, but yeah, plastic + high temp = leaching chemicals

      • +1

What about the chemicals that leech from the coffee?

        • +1

          you mean caffeine?

          • @Serapis: The ones that make it black are the obvious ones.
But there are a thousand more in coffee.

  • +2

is 12 cups of coffee a day bad for me?

    • +2

No. May be bad for those around you though.

    • +3

I drink 15 to 20 a day just to keep up with my coffee

    • i use this to make 5 cups of cold brew for me… though I only have 1 or 2 cups a day.

  • Not good. I do not like anything made of plastic.
    Stainless steel would be good.

    • You don't need to buy one.

Plastic won't shatter so they are good.

  • lol plastic

    • Shattered glass is not funny.

  • +1

You can get one at Ikea for about $8-10 depending on the size, and Ikea's is made of a glass body. Not a huge deal to be made here tbh

    • +2

I was impressed by the Kmart 8 cup version, the only parts that come into contact with hot liquids are glass and stainless. It is currently $10, pretty sure I paid a bit less than that ~1 year ago.

  • $89 RRP?
Y’all should start carrying the Espro Press P5 which retails for roughly same price; thick reworked glass body, stainless steel elsewhere, good markings on the glass, looks good, plastic only on the plunger because anyone who knows a thing about coffee will know it’s impossible not to be plastic and 2 layers of mesh no need for paper filters.

    • +1

      we're paying $4-$9 …

      • +1

RRP is listed in title, I suggested to store rep at that price can swap it with a much better product, don't know how you couldn't comprehend what I was suggesting.
At this price yes go ahead and buy, you'll be buying twice by the way.

    • plastic only on the plunger because anyone who knows a thing about coffee will know it’s impossible not to be plastic

Why is it impossible for a plunger not to be plastic?

    • and 2 layers of mesh no need for paper filters

So why does it allow you to use a paper filter?

      • For anal people that don’t want “oil”, and that’s a plus too, allows you to use paper or non paper.
The plunger, well if you look at the way the mesh is designed, you’d be stupid to think it’s cost effective to try and replace the plastic parts around the mesh with stainless steel.
