just a question, I'm trying to burn some american & european DVD's but my laptop is region locked to OZ, If I buy this DVD burner would I be able to region lock it to the overseas Region and just burn copies as normal?
Anyone tried this on Windows 7 Starter?
Even Starter supports USB ports, it'll be fine.
nice! gonna grab it today!
Anyone happen to know if it's region-free? Or firmware flashable to be region free?
Check out videohelp or afterdawn, IIRC they have searchable databases.
Many ways to overcome region locking
e.g. AnyDVD, CloneDVD, etcThanks guys. I don't know the model number or I'd search the internet - just wondering if anyone already knew.
Reason is because I know a couple people with laptops who've run out of region changes and have drives that can't be firmware fixed and don't work with any software. :(
I'm planning to just give them an external region free drive to use, hence my initial musings.
Cheers.According to Windows Device Manager, this is a TOSHIBA SUPER MULTI PA3761
Firmware version is TO01 (according to Google, there was a TO00 version that was updated to 01 to fix a problem)
Thanks mate.
just ordered one. thanks
I just bought one of these from DSE Robina for $30
They had 2 that were customer returns (but in brand new condition with full warranty - one was a change of mind, the other was apparently not compatible with their PC although I find that unlikely).
