If this is one of the recent batch (post Feb 2019), this is probably the best monitor you can buy in this price range. It has excellent FreeSync support and is G-Sync compatible.

  • What is the differences in the batch? Whats the risk associated if its not the recent batch?

    • I did more research and all VG271UP ones are the new batch. The old ones are VG271U. The difference is the non-P versions can flicker for a frame, every 1-3 days or so.

So you should be good with this. There is free returns anyway.

      • +1

A single frame? Every 3 days.

I’d hate that to happen. Would totally ruin the porn I could be watching at that exact moment in time.

        • +1

That frame might be the money shot. All ruined.

  • Still an Innolux IPS panel yeah? Avoid for gaming purposes.

    • Why is that reason to avoid it? I'm not aware…

      • Slow response times, approaching VA regions (though for different transition points).

  • My 270HU is artifacting and the 271HU is pretty pricey. I wonder if there would be any negatives to getting this as a replacement?

  • +1

delivery will be Thu. 17 Oct. and Mon. 21 Oct, i would say its not even in stock, im interested in buying but cant pull the trigger,,

  • Cheaper if you use POPPER10.

    $539.10 + delivery.

It claims to be 1ms. Is that only in some fast mode with overshoot?

How does this compare to the LG Ultragear 27GL850? They both have 144hz, freesync/gsync, 1ms.

I do not see this Acer appear on the G-sync certified compatible list.

Strangely enough, it has no USB ports. And the only display cable you get is HDMI.

    • 27GL850 is far better. The 1ms response time isn’t real, but the LG is a good bit faster. LG also has g sync.

The Acer has 1:1100 black contrast and LG only 1:735. So if you want better blacks, get the Acer. If you want a faster but also pricier monitor, get the LG.

I still stand by the Acer being the best •at this price point•.

      • Does this Acer have g-sync or not? I can't find it on the list, but your description says it supports gsync.

      • The LG doesn't have a g-sync module, but it is fully g-sync certified freesync monitor. Sorry to be pedantic, I've been researching a new monitor for myself for a while now and still haven't decided on what to get.
