Just beware this is 2.1A total output on the USB ports whereas other powerpoints have 2x2.4A output on the USB ports.

    • Most people a 2.1A is going to be enough to charge their phone or whatever they plugging into it

      • -1

Yeah, but if you've got 2 phones in (hence 2 USB ports) then it's not going to be enough to charge either.

        • It will still charge two phones. Just not fast charge

          • -2

@asa79: I've not seen a phone in recent years that actively charges off of 5W.

@Tacooo: Now your just trolling or have no idea what your talking about

  • Dual 3.1 amp… But a little more @ 27.50

  • Nominal voltage is 230V not 250V.

  • Cheaper on eBay, if you buy two or more.
Tried to post the link but it got deleted (I'm unaffiliated).

    Mod: Link here

    • Maybe trim the tracking info from link?

  • Amazon has a good return policy so if its pretty crappy less hassles returning it

    • Except the whole paying for an electrician to remove it thing.

      • +1

yes yes ofcourse…we wont be removing it ourselves… no no never never

      • well mean before you install it ;) I not a fan of all the writing all over it, but hopefully thats just the pic

  • guys anyone know if USB 3 sockets are out as well? technology I guess is moving fast….I guess I will still keep anker and blitzwolf multiport chargers just as a backup :)

    • +2

No, there's no USB 3 ones, nor are there USB 2 ones, as these are just chargers and don't transmit data. I believe that you might be thinking of QC 3?

      • Yes, just more power to charge but I think the technology is yet to come, thanks for the comment.

  • +1

Only get a qualified electrician to install this.

  • -1

I don't get why would anyone install this permanently on the wall. USB tech evolves very quickly, in 5 years time USB-A 2A won't be very useful.

    • +1

In 5 years you’ll be able to buy a usb-c powerpoint for that money, that will last you another 5 years

    • I bought these same outlets in november 2014 (using ebay discount codes).

I dont get why some people are so short sighted (as to not make life easier).

    • So your saying that in 2 years you can't buy usb charging cables

  • +1

None of these are going to satisfy anyone trying to charge mobile phones with them. They most likely don't support QC2 / 3 and will never support USB power delivery, which any new USB C device will want for speedy charging. They are ok to power small devices like a raspberry pi or other media players that use USB power.

    • I have charged everything on these outlets, to as fast as the cable allows, which I can tell you varies greatly (and is the limiting factor)!
Fast charging should be in the 'Everyday vs Sometimes vs Occasional' category for the lifespan you want your device to have.

    • How is this not going to charge a mobile don't you understand how charging works

  • +2

Most times people use these are overnight so power delivery is not a issue.
