Great unit but the coil whine in these are really bad and the killer wifi (non-changeable) is not great either. I'm on my second XPS 9380, with the configuration in this listing. The first unit had a motherboard replaced before dell replaced the whole unit. Dell have now admitted, the coil whine and poor wifi are common issues that they haven't been able to fix. Might be why they are lowering the price.
Just get older, once your hearing drops off you don't hear any whine.
FWIW, I've had a XPS 13 9370 for more than a year now and never had any issues with coil whine or wifi. I had read about coil whine before purchasing but still decided to go for it as I liked the screen and form-factor - luckily I didn't have any issues. This is just anecdotal info but still thought I'd put it out there.
Aggree, great unit but my understanding is the coil whine is worse and more common with the 9380 as its related to the i5 & i7-8565U processors.
How loud is the whine? Will you hear it only when it's quiet or is it overbearing?
New XPS with 10th Gen CPUs are out. And a stupid new price too.
That's a comet lake. Still based on whiskey lake 14nm. Not going to make a huge difference, or at least not justify the new price tag.
I have one of these, only thing that irved me was that all the ports were USB 3.1
Would have thought they'd at least give one USB 3.0Oh well my mistake in the end..
I hate faster ports too. Give me slower ones any day.
Thanks OP, good price. Tossing up this vs Huawei Matebook X pro
damn these are the specs Im after. is this the lowest its ever been? i shall take it
edit: looks like this is their recurring sale price. I'll wait for it to go one better
