Keep in mind this is only the Handset Cost.

Yeah, the way he's done it makes it look like that's all you have to pay per month.

    • +1

No it's not, the 20gb plan actually reduces the price

    • +3

$42.50 is the TOTAL cost per month including the plan and the handset over 2 years.

  • Seems like a pretty terrible deal considering all the Pixel deals lately, which will likely continue leading up to the Pixel 4 release.

    • Soz. I was quick to judge.
20 GB, good soize not behd

    • +3

Not really, avg plan is probably ~$25/mo putting this at $560 for device, cheaper still than any deal posted to date.

      • Yep. My negative comment was before description had been updated to include the plan component. I'm already with Vodafone and will probably hit them up to see if they can do any better.

  • It's $48.50/mth for Pixel 3XL with 20GB data a month.

  • Op the Pixel 3XL is showing $55.50/mth over 2yrs.

As mentioned you need a plan on top of that. Although the 30gb/mth plan was only $3/mth extra

Ops post is right it adds $1008 loyalty discount when you take it to cart

    • Pixel 3 64GB (24M plan) + 20GB data = $42.50 | 30GB Data + 1000 Mins International Calls = $52.50

    • Pixel 3XL 64GB (24M Plan) + 20GB Data = $48.50 | 30GB Data + 1000 Mins International Calls = $58.50

Serious question. How is Vodaphone coverage these days? Got burnt a long time ago and have stayed clear since then.

    • I used kogan which runs on Vodafone and I was very impressed with my use here in Sydney.

    • No issues. I've been with them for the last 7-8 years with no hiccups. Sydney CBD through to Western Sydney. Rarely any dead zones.

    • Coverage is fine for me. Works all around Sydney.

So this is what should be showing on the Pixel 3 XL when you select the 24 month repayment and the 20GB plan

    https://i.imgur.com/Fc826nS.png

    Repayment $55.50 /month (Over 24 months. Min. cost $1,332)

$35 Red Plan Negative value of -$7 a month, making the phone plan free.

    totals $48.50 /month (Total min. cost $1,325)

And again for the Pixel 3 (non-XL) the total comes to $42.50 /month (Total min. cost $1,181) when you apply the right combination of repayment and Red Plan.

Weird part is that when you go to checkout it shows you the full non-discounted price, so I'm not entirely sure how / when the loyalty bonus gets applied.

  • Vodafone seems to be too quiet in both promotion and 5G rollout. Wondering how many customers have left them.

    • Not everyone is clamouring for 5G, especially given how it will drain your battery faster due to regular switching between 5G and 4G until 5G becomes more widespread. I'm going to be upgrading my phone at the end of this year, and 5G is a nice-to-have but will likely avoid given the increase in cost and impact to battery life. I also managed to get a great deal with Vodafone 2 years ago on a 20GB plan so they do deals, and if you've been with them for a few years, you can push them for a discount.

      • Yeah I lock my (Telstra) phone to 3g most of the time. Its plenty quick enough, better battery/coverage.

  • Not bad price. Understand pixel is coming soon bla bla, but imo it's ugly as hell. Well from the leaks anyway. Sticking to my pixel 3.

    • Looks far better than P3XL though! Will be a big jump in performance too with extra RAM and hopefully better battery life as 3's were so bad.

Pixel 3 ugly sticking to my pixel 2

      • Interesting.. Didn't find pixel 3 ugly. Did move from pixel 2. Best thing is it's not as wide.

Before getting a Pixel, inform yourself about the battery life complaints they have across different models. I'm with a Pixel 2 now, and I never had to charge a phone so often in my life (at least it's super fast).

    • The charging menu tells me I get 20hrs. I'm a pretty heavy user, I have 250+ apps

      It's not bad.

  • looks cheap enough for pixel 3, don't really like the notch….

Signed up for the Pixel 3 XL 64 GB White. $48.50 per month for 24 months on the 20GB plan.
Wife is also with Voda so 5% off plus they're going to give me $105 for my 'well worn' iphone 6.
    Thx OP!

    • Any bonus if you port from Telstra?

      • I don't know, you'll have to call them and ask.

  • do Telstra plan/price match? i still got 4 months on contract, early termination will cost me $240

  • Thanks for this deal! I just bought the XL version. The email order confirmation seems to have included a Google Home mini as well, which makes this deal even better.

Only thing I'm not sure about is the 64gb storage with no expandable memory, hope it is enough but I do beleive you get free Google Photos storage as well.

    • oh man, I want a free home mini, maybe I'll complain…care to send me your invoice? (de-id'd if need be)

  • I ordered on 5th Sep, confirmed delivery address.
They shipped it to a previous address, my previous work address. An address I haven't used in a year and have had other deliveries to my residential address since then.
Had to be collected by Toll and returned to sender. They would not redirect it to the correct address.
Now they're saying it's out of stock and end of line.
Let's see what I can squeeze out of them…
