ANTEC PC CASE - P183 (3 Fans, Silent Case with Good Airflow) $130.00 SOLD OUT

140

I bought mine not long ago for $220, so $130 is a good price for this case. The amount of interior customizations and cable channels will keep you busy for hours getting the best airflow in your case. Best bit, separate powersupply compartment away from your motherboard in the bottom. So heat and dust from the PS stays away from the top compartment. The fans have manual speed control too, low, med, fast and you can switch it at what noise level suits you. It is a full tower case and weighs 14KG so bring your wife / girlfriend to help you. Don't know how long the deal is for. Don't try to call Eddie on the phone regarding stock and availability or email him, he will find you and shoot you with an AK-47.

Sydney, NSW, Carlingford.

  • Seems like a nice case there and good price!

Question for other case shoppers - which case would you recommend for a 'silent' case? I want to build a new PC and get rid of my Thermaltake Soprano for good!

    • ^ the case mentioned up there should be silent. I had a p180 and the was silent so the revision should be just as good or better

    • The Coolmaster Sileo 500 (http://www.silentpcreview.com/coolermaster_sileo500) is a really quiet case. It has sound proofing foam on the inside of the case to help even more..

  • Methinks the Fractal Design R3 would be a better buy — same aesthetics (well, almost), also with noise reduction panels but the advantage the R3 has is support for more fans (up to 7, with 2 already included).

I personally think just by visiting the websites that the Fractal Design R3 is much inferior.

  • Yes it is a good case, I bought it for ~$150 a few months back then a day later Fluidtek has it for cheaper (for shame!).
And because I have had first hand experience, I can say I wouldn't buy this case again. I would go with the Fractal R3 instead. The P183 is not as quiet as it seems. Also when I upgraded to this case I was led to believe it could support a big ass videocard, I was wrong about that too. It's only slightly bigger than my old case (Antec 3).

On the plus side, it is quite easy to clean thanks to the dust filters at the inflows.
Also only this and a few other P1xxs can support the cheap but well-built CP850 power supplies.

  • Have one myself. Currently selling for $139 at PCDIY and MSY for those that are looking at a closer store. Beautiful case, definitely quieter than any gaming case. The TriCool fan works wonders. It is a Mid Tower btw OP! "Advanced Super Mid Tower" straight from the Antec site!

  • It's a good case, but stock fans are not quiet enough even at low speed. I replaced them with Noctua ones.

  • antec p183 case $130 sold out

  • It was my dream case, however it was alway 200$, so I bought a second hand Cosmos-S instead.

  • Sold out? Damn that was fast. I guess MSY and PCDIY for $10 extra aint too bad. Can't get a better case for the price me thinks. Feel like ripped off paying over $200 for it now, meh, good case though so worth it.

Eddie don't need to use no stinkin AK 47 -
he'll just make you wait in line and let them cigarettes deprive youse of oxygen!

    • We all love to hate Eddie, he could have a sitcom, he is that good. Such a personality.

[What, you want to buy some Ram? Also you want to return the video card you bought just yesterday because it was noisy? No Ram for you!! Get out!!!!]

  • I have one of these cases, agreed its great but just not big enough for a Watercooling setup. thinking of selling EOIs?

  • Have a p182, was going to get this for a new rig, but now looking at the p19x series instead, as leonheart argued it doesn't support very big video cards, plus the stock fans are kinda crappy on the p18x series.

    Great bargain tho.

    • Its basically same as P182 with small tweaks for better airflow but personally i think P182 looks better…

It will support long video cards by removing one of the HDD cage in the motherboard compartment. I have a HD5870 with aftermarket cooler on it to make it almost 29cm. Still plenty of room to spare.

      • Yeah I really prefer the look of my p182, its so sleek and svelte.

But they also changed some of the side-venting and the p19x series has a huge fan…

But good to know a 58xx would fit.

  • Crap case, plastic where it shouldnt be.

  • Just got myself a Fracture R3 last week, its worth the money :)
