I have been looking for a gaming laptop around $1500 mark and Lenovo Y7000 is now at this price.

Then apply for another 20% off from eBay this reduces price from $2399 to $1499. If you want to get the laptop with the 20% eBay code (PAPA20) expires tonight so you have to pull the trigger before midnight tonight.
Do not forget another 1% Shopback or Velocity eStore offers.

Specifications sent to me by Lenovo eBay rep for this laptop which is the same on their official website.

I was waiting for a good deal on a Lenovo for months, finally gave up last week and pulled the trigger on an Acer Nitro 5. It arrived today and seems pretty good so far, but did I make a big mistake?

    • I have just bought the Dell XPS 15 with similar spec but with 4K, 97WHr battery, but GTX1050Ti for $2009. It is a Refurb as well. Just paid the rep over the phone 2 hours ago :(.

      • +1

I am sure you can cancel the purchase as they have not sent the laptop out yet.

      • +2

Get it refunded just call back and say change of mind.

The gpu in this is so much better.

      • Socket puppetting much guys

      • I too have just pulled the trigger for a new xps 15 with help of a mate I managed to get staff price which is supposed to be cost plus 1% by cash.

I think 2k is not a bad price since I paid $2.7k for the following specs:
        I
        4k touch
        32gb ram
        1TB ssd
        1660ti

      • Why even need 4k on a 15.6 screen and 2 grand refurb wtf

        • -3

Coz 4k looks way better. That's how MacBook Pro got so overly popular. Well I can't stand anything less than retina display anymore.

    • -1

      You got the better deal

      • Really? How so?

      • +1

Can you give me further info. I really like the 4k for photo and video editing on the go. I don't play game on it. I trust Dell's quality more than the Lenovo. Still half minded.

      • -1

Nothing beats the $500 gaming laptop.

        • +1

          ?

        • +1

          toosoon

    • I was on the same boat. I am happy with the acer nitro. Cheapest 1060ti laptop ive seen while shopping around.

I would have gotten lenovo y740 for 2x the spec and the price if that deal didnt pop up.

      • I do think I actually prefer the look of the Acer Nitro over this Legion. And it feels pretty solid. But the specs of this one are better, I think. Oh well, I've opened the box so there's no point dwelling on it now.

    • +2

The acer deal is $220 cheaper. Yes this lenovo has better CPU, but not significant. The rest are almost the same. You have 513gb of ssd on this deal whereas acer has 256gb ssd + 1tb normal hdd.
I prefer the acer because its cheaper.
Both have gpu 1660ti, so i think u make the right call.

    • +2

the lenovo is good but not $220 more good. No way. The deal you got was excellent.

      • Yeah, I regret not getting that deal. The higher end CPU isn't necessary for gaming.

        • That Acer in stock now

  • +1

Specs are not bad but 60hz and 57Wh battery are a bit disappointing.

  • Amazing price for this specs range. Iam still debating building a gaming pc or getting this. This definitely offers a lot of value for the price

    • Desktop will give you more power… but laptops are easier to use anywhere..
Plug it in your TV, sorted.

      • Good point 😊 gonna be saving up for a pc. Also infinite oppurtunities to upgrade in the future

  • +1

Could someone recommend a slim/light weigt laptop that has got a good battery life, a decent screen and under 1500. Would prefer atleast 512gb disk space

    • +1

Xps 13 or 15 from Dell outlet.

      https://www.dell.com/en-au/outlet/SystemsStockRoomDetails?~c…

They do sales every now and then or you can just pull the trigger as it's probably in your budget.

Great aftermarket support for the first year. My 4k panel had some dust trapped under it after 50 weeks of use, gave them a buzz, sent someone out within the week and replaced the entire panel on my xps 15.

      • My XPS13 is out of warranty and Dell still replaced the screen and motherboard for free.

        • I'm scared I keep hearing people complain about charger errors.

And how's the trackpads? I think they use Microsft which is worse and less accurate than Sypantics?

          • +1

@capslock janitor: Or the coil whine

            • @Robbo14: D:
              So Lenovo or Dell?

              I've used:
Acer Aspire - hate the missing Caps indicator, older models were better equipped.
Asus Vivobook - also no CapsLock indicator light.
Toshiba Satellite - OK but rebranded/sold off now?
              HP Pavillion - overheating.

      • Thanks for the link. I'm looking at the 9360 model. Seems old but affordable. All of them are with 256 GB M.2 NVMe. Are those upgrade able?
Also would you recommend a Zenbook or the XPS 13?
I need ultra portability, usb-c, atleast 512 GB.

  • If the colour gamut of the screen was better, i would have hit buy. Only thing stopping me :(
    screen: 15.6" FHD (1920x1080) IPS anti-glare (60 Hz / 72% colour gamut / 300 nits)
From a photographers perspective, its just not enough.

    • +1

I better stick with the Dell purchase as the 4K is 100% AdobeRGB.

      • +2

I agree. When it comes to anything to do with photos and getting the exact look you want, especially if you plan on printing, then you need the higher gamut. I would suggest calibrating your screen with an X-rite or similar every few months too

  • How long they able to ship this laptop? Can I get it in like 2, 3 weeks time?

    • +1

It says deliver to me next Wednesday (Sydney).

  • No thunderbolt port

  • +1

Will i get invoice getting this from ebay Lenovo for gst claim?

    • -2

Yes get the divorce or request them directly.

In the near future, humanity is divided into two groups: normal humans and Teleks. Teleks have the ability to move objects using only the power of their minds. The telekinetic ability is said to be partly hereditary and partly learned. The story takes place sixty years after the Teleks first appeared; most of the four thousand Teleks are second-generation, having acquired the ability shortly after birth. The Teleks live apart from normal humans in Glarietta Pavilion, a floating city. They collect precious metals from the moon and other planets which they use to purchase menial labor and other services from ordinary human beings.

The story opens with an attack on a Telek by an enraged worker, followed by the murder of the Telek. A witness, named Shorn, who is a member of a subversive society, arranges for the body to be disposed of. The murderer is caught and killed, presumably by the Teleks. The remainder of the story follows Shorn as he infiltrates Telek society and persuades a Telek to give him telekinetic powers. In the final scene, Shorn brings 265 normal humans disguised as Teleks to the first annual Telek convention, where he tricks the assembled Teleks into giving the humans telekinetic powers.

NO 144HZ is not considered as a Gaming Laptop.

    • +4

144hz for what? you expect to pull that fps with a freaking 1660ti on triple A titles

      • 1660ti users should not consider on playing triple A titles, causal gaming like Overwatch and LoL can easily go up to over 144fps. With this price $1500 at least getting a 120hz monitor which is Asus Tuf 1660ti providing.

        • Are you daft? 1660ti is enough to play most titles, you dont need to play games on 100 fps genius

if you want that buy a desktop or spend $2k+ for 2070/2080 laptops

    • It's a laptop

    • 4K gaming on a 57wh battery. How long do you expect that to last?

  • Missed again,
How long was the offer, 2 hours only?

  • Looks like a good deal however the killer is Lenovo customer support is basically nill.

  • +1

For those ppl missed out 20% off code you can still use the 15% off code with this deal. Not much of difference probably only 30 bux more.

Lenovo reduced price to 1719 this morning. Use 15% it should give you a similar price I posted last night.

    • +1

What is the 15% off code that works with this deal? Thanks .

      • Actually I realized it's my fault as 15% eBay code does not work. Alternatively purchase from lenovo website and use 14% cash back from shopback should give you good price as well.

I was looking for reviews for this laptop, and it seems this is very similar (if not the same model) to the Y540, it's called Y7000 SE in other countries, and I saw some reviews in other languages. Dave2D did a review on the y540 here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENJwA9MVHz8

    • Go ahead create a new thread mate. I still think this lenovo deal beats the Dell gaming laptop deal someone posted last night.
