My 5 year old BES920 just broke down so ordered one of these in the meantime.
Dont know about the white colour but great price. $167.48 after CR.For anyone with this, how often do you descale?
I’ve had mine about a year, seems to require a pretty regular descale. Descaled probably six weeks ago and now it’s asking again.
How many cups are you making everyday? For me on an average of 1 cup/day I have to descale every 6 months.
My average is one cup a day also, so a bit of a surprise the orange light came back on quickly.
What do you use to descale?
the default descaler that came with it, and then I bought a larger (and cheaper) bottle of descaler off amazon
It depends on how often you used it, for me it is about 2-3 months.
From memory, there is a setting where you can define how "hard" is the water used and it automatically adjusts the descaling time. I believe water in Melbourne is not very hard and i set it to lowest setting. Have been using it for a while and it hasn't complained yet for descaling.
Exactly this. I had to descale it within just a couple of months when I first got it, so I went through the manual and found out how to adjust the settings. Water hardness in Melbourne is way below the minimum required for the lowest setting, so there should be no issues. I haven't had to descale it since.
I ve had it a year and a half ago, the orange light just lit up (i totally dk what that means until i saw your comment lol)

Yeah, just needs to cool down which takes much longer than heading up. Open the wand with the coffee lights on and let out water and that will speed up the cooling process.
