Worst of both worlds. Small upright/portable motor with long wand and corrugated pipe to the floor head. Get a DC65 for about the same price.

I own the older NV500NZ and it has served us for 3 years. Still cleans carpets like no other with the powered roller head. Time for an upgrade and pairs with 6% off eBay vouchers via OZBARGAIN classified, $376. Thanks OP for the post!
Edit: Just checked, 4 years now. And still sucks great
