If you don't have eBay Plus, you can use PV6EXTRA to get the same discount as the Plus (Panther) coupon. I've no idea when that coupon expires.

    • Thanks for the code scrimshaw

    • thanks still works today!

  • Anyone recommend a cheaper alternative that has comparable performance?

    • Can always try the Kogan for about $90.

      • You forget sarcasm mode on warning hehe

  • Why this Dyson is so cheap?

    • +2

      “Cheap” lol

    • Lol this is not cheap. I got this model 2 years ago at Big W for $249. You know there are 5 newer models to this one right?

You would think after 2 years it would be less than $150 new (old stock)

  • @Gigiolo This is OZbargains darling Xiaomi Dreame cordless Handheld V9 for 279.65 with same code.

    • xxiaomi is better?

      • +1

I would say yes in terms of specs, but probably not for carpet and that' what I needed it for.

  • Dyson V7 Cordfree Vacuum - 248407-01 is $319.20 at Bing Lee 15% off, not sure which one is better? compare with V6 animal.
I have carpet 2 bedroom, which one should I buy ? suggestions are welcome, cheers.

    • I was looking at the V7 as well for around $350. I would also like to know if it's better to pay extra & get the V7 compared to this one. Cheers :)

    • Link please.

  • Has anyone got JB to match the price? I have a gift card to use up.

  • What's the difference with this one from Bunnings ($279)?

    • I have a Dyson that doesn’t really suck all that much. Or it really sucks, whichever way you look at it.

Will this actually work properly on carpets and stuff?

      • +1

buy a miele bag vacuum … the v6 isnt great…

      • Wonder down to your local Bunnings and check out the Dyson V6 Cord-free Handheld stick for $279

        • -1

          This is the same thing.

      • +1

if you have mostly carpet, the V6 is probably not the one to get

        • +1

I got both and to be honest my Dyson sucks even on floorboards. Other than being handy, it’s a POS.

Recently the motor in the head started to get stuck sometimes too. And I haven’t even used it much.

          • @cnut: we have the handheld (no extension tube) and it does great on the small jobs.
the motorhead comes apart to clean out hair and carpet that jams up the action.

          • @cnut: I got a V6 and it goes pretty well, your one sounds like a dud compared.
I still have to use the old corded vac for a thorough vac every now and again but it does the job for general day to day use or spot cleaning on our carpet, rugs and tiles. Our carpets are pretty easy cleaning.

          • @cnut: My V6 is probably a few years old. It has copped an absolute flogging including two renovations. I use it on anything except liquid and gooey stuff, including fine dust particular from using grout and sanding walls. My wife even used to vacuum the back deck.

The trick is maintenance. Pull out the filter, wash it out then let fully dry. Use a screw driver to carefully jimmy off the part that empties into the dust collector, then bang the crap our and clean the rest with a brush.

            Look up YouTube for examples.

We have worn out the bottom of the motor head, that's the only down side. The battery still works like a champ.

            • @ilikeit: OK, I might give the V6 a crack then. I must have a dumb base model from a few years back (from Masters).

      • I have the v6 absolute and it picks up much more than my previous vacuums.

Having the specialised motor heads makes a big difference. The absolute comes with different heads for carpet and for floorboards. These base model units from Bunnings and the slightly better animal are no good and it's a shame that they only offer the 'absolute' for later models where they make larger margins. (It's also a shame that they change the sockets so I can't, for example, stick a v6 carpet header on a v11. Have to buy the absolute package all over again.)

        • Wow that sucks. Intentional I bet so you have to pay obscene amounts on their parts. $30 for a plastic attachment is crazy.

    • I had a miele cat and dog s5681 for 3 years from new to until I got my dyson stick. On first use it filled up the dyson in under 5 mins on 2 bedroom carpets even though we vaccum every week with the Miele (clearly wasn't doing a deep clean). Thats when I released the how good the dyson is. May not suit everyone but we are pretty happy with our Dyson handstick V8.

      • Yeah that’s the thing. I found the cheap Dysons to be good for couches and that’s about it.

Higher end ones are great. But damn expensive.

    • So i am new to this…can someone plz briefly tell me the difference between v6..v10..?? And does it worth spending those more bucks?

      Cheers

      • +1

More battery life, more suction, less noise. Only you could tell if it's worth the price difference

        • Thank you

  • According to the Ebay description, it doesn't come with the docking station, or the stubborn dirt brush.

    However, according to Dyson.com.au

    https://shop.dyson.com.au/dyson-v6-animal-extra-237774-01 (same model number)

it does come with those. I wonder what it will come with - has anyone ordered and can confirm?

Also, 750 qantas points + double points on purchases linked through Qantas.

      From the eBay rep:
      "
This model comes with the Charging Dock which can be wall mounted for easier storage. It also comes with the Stubborn Dirt Brush.

Please do not hesitate to contact us again if we can be of any further assistance.

      Best wishes,
      Jojo"

      Answer is yes :)
